Author Topic: Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it  (Read 6749458 times)

Everything has its own texture file instead of all being clustered together, as part of them unbinding everything from specific IDs to make way for the Mod API. This also means texture packs can no longer break new items/blocks (they will just use the default textures until updated), HD and animated textures are locally supported, etc. The game rebinds these textures as they normally are on load. Texture packs will automatically be unstitched when the new version comes out - this is mainly for texture pack makers to adjust their texture packs ahead of time for the change.

Skipping terrain; nothing to do
Skipping items; nothing to do
All done!
Your items.png and terrain.png have been replaced with any images not cut from the image.
The unstitched images can be found in textures/blocks/*.png and textures/items/*.png respectively.

I don't get it. Nothing changes.
And it doesn't even make a textures folder.

You select the texture pack and it does it. If it is a special texture pack like adjusted for mods, then it won't work.

No, if you have a block whose texture is not in the pack the block will be a flat color. that only applies to mods that don't come with their own textures and specify the blocks or whatever to fall back onto those textures when a texture in the appropriate folder isn't found.

The texturepack wasnt 100% edited and some textures we're default. I guess that's why.

so much pusillanimous individual

Someone posted that gif when it was new. D:

That GIF is as old as since the last time George Washington brushed his teeth.

BDoubleO has confirmed that because of the addition of Redpower in the next Feed The Beast update, it will indeed negatively impact pre-existing worlds because of the large number of block ID changes and make them potentially unplayable without manual changes by the player

just thought you all should know

That isn't to bash RedPower - That is to say mods are highly incompatible. ;~;

Edit: Reg, what is up with this? http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/password-issues.4157/

That sounds really bad, but I assume you can explain it in a nice way. Says something about only happened for failed logins, aka passwords wouldn't be correct but might be nearly correct?

it means exactly what it says

Due to a minor error, peoples usernames and passwords were printed to the console in a recent launcher version.

Wow, I wonder what kind of error would display usernames and passwords...
