LEMME INSTAGRAM THIS MINECRAFT stuff

Why didn't we have horses before this?

It was planned, but other things were prioritized.

such as bats that do nothing at all!

Blame Jeb.
He Instagram'd it. :C

such as bats that do nothing at all!
we need mobs that can pick up items as a utility, like retrievers.

I have a mod that allows them to be tamed, carried like an item, named, and trained to fight. :D

Cubebots has something like that, so it's possible.

I wish Jeb would make robotic minions or some stuff like that.

that'd be neat

Dinnerbone stated he's working on specializing difficulty. One thing is regional difficulty, whereas the longer you are in an area, the more difficult the area is. He's trying to make it balanced whereas it isn't overkill on your ass, interrupting everything. Just generally more difficult. Also, new launcher supports junk.

So I've been off the Minecraft scene for awhile, what's the deal with the lack of snapshots?

Also, are there any good minor mods, ones that just add little things to vanilla? I want to take a break from FTB but there hasn't been anything significant added to vanilla lately that isn't redstone- or map-making-related to make it appealing.

I am wondering why there hasn't been any snapshot too, it has been quite the time since the last one. :/

ehh...
Not sure if I like that

edit: actually just read about it and it doesn't sound too bad. they'll just be a higher chance of mobs with enchanted stuff spawning

As far as mods that add little things to vanilla go I've started using a combination of MAtmos to make it a more pleasant experience regarding sounds, DungeonPack to make exploring more interesting, and BiblioCraft to add a few nice decorative storage items. So far it's really nice, makes coming back to vanilla (sorta) a lot better. Definitely worth a try if you're feeling a little burnt out.

God I haven't played since the inventory tweaks and they're so great. Being able to distribute stacks across several crafting squares is the best thing.

The only mods I use are smart moving and TFC.

You know what someone should do one of these days? Stick a secret thing in their mod that, on a rare occasion, puts a message in chat that looks like it's from another player. Just something simple like "<creeper66> Hello?", maybe follow up with something if the player responds. Or just make random digging sounds somewhat close to where you are, stone or dirt breaking and stuff like that. It'd totally freak people out.

Edit: Oh, or name tags, just close enough that you can see it, but not close enough that you can read it.

You say that like TFC doesn't change Minecraft so drastically it could be its own game.
