Author Topic: Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it  (Read 6747996 times)

Dan200 made a lego mod for Minecraft: http://www.computercraft.info/billund/
Finally, a GOOD Lego mod. I've been waiting for something like this to happen.

2.0 slowly approaches with each "major" update, what could they possibly do for it? 1.0 brought us The End, Nether Fortresses, Enchanting; all sorts of big things that are now major parts of the game

Is is possible they can come up with anything that big to make 2.0 worthy of the number? Or will it be just another standard update?

Minecraft 2.0 will be a complete rebuild of the game in a much more stable engine, lessening strain on platforms while maximizing possibility.

just kidding it will probably be a bunch of stupid stuff

went cave mining today, got a stack of coal blocks (yes, blocks) and 3 stacks of iron. however only 3 diamonds. and a saddle :)

2.0 Will add a new dimension called The Beginning where you become the creator of time and the universe, finally showcasing that the Minecraft overworld is in-fact a cube and that we are not alone in the universe.

I remember 2 years ago when someone said that it is possible for version numbers to go to 1.10, so it isn't confirmed that Minecraft will be going straight to 2.0.

Personally if I were at Mojang, I wouldn't have been so liberal with the update numbering. We'd still be on release 1.064 or something like that, just to avoid this situation.

Everyone is super hyped about this 2.0 business with 1.7 coming up, but what they're forgetting is that it's not a decimal number. It's not like 2.0 comes after 1.9, 1.10 does. And then 1.11. And then 1.12. And so on.

From the upcoming features page on the wiki:

"Multiple Minecraft copies per Mojang account."

What's the benefit behind this?

Different names? That's my best guess.

For families, you can put all your family members on one Mojang account. Easier to manage. That's the best I got, but I think that's a main reason.

So I finally bought Minecraft under my own account so I can actually play multiplayer. Anyone want to invite me to their server?
Also in the poll I can't see the image below Enderman.

Just random tidbits from my old Minecraft singleplayer worlds:
I managed an obscenely large number of diamonds. I have two and a half full stacks of Diamond Blocks.
I also managed obscenely large amounts of prettymuch everything else, thanks to hoarding and an enormous 1x2 tunnel spanning 5000 blocks of the map.

Started a new world, found a nice zombie dungeon:

Combined loot from both chests. The disk has LuaIDE on it.

What mods do you run?
I run a custom Tekkit-based modpack but I'm trying to clean it up and remove the extra crap I never use, for instance, computercraft, IC2 (it's old and bugged and why the hell is it even in the pack), Stargatetech, and so on.

The stuff I really like are Twilight Forest, Mystcraft, Thaumcraft, and Biomes o' Plenty. Prettymuch everything else is just some nice fluff. Too bad BoP and Galacticraft break each other, or I'd be running Galacticraft too.

I can't wait till they get out the modding API. That should simplify my pains greatly.
