The next episode of South Park will apparently have something to do with Minecraft.
Teaching MINECRAFT to adults
Season 17: Informative Murder research
Randy, and the rest of the parents in town, offer 100 ounces of silver in exchange for MINECRAFT lessons.

The desc of the episode says "The boys use the game of MINECRAFT as a distraction to keep their parents from hurting each other."

Apparently South Park staff didn't ask permission to do it. I remember Dinnerbone tweeting a while back asking if anyone could confirm South Park referencing Minecraft. Although Mojang probably wouldn't want to fight Comedy Central over this.

Also, what the forget about silver? They better not be thinking of mods. Mods die, come back, disappear - Even with a common thing like silver, it's a mod that might not work after an update. You'd want to base this off vanilla stuff...

I love South Park more than I love my own skin. And I have pretty awesome skin.

Yep, Notch is okay with it. However, again, they never did ask permission. AKA Notch also says he hasn't even been given a preview of the episode. For all we know, they are going to brutally destroy Minecraft with lots of insults. But either way is fine.

If people had to ask permission before referencing things or making jokes about things, Comedy Central would be out of business

You're officially the only other person on the forum who knows what that is

Love that part, at least.

I understand that. Just that, they're both 'cool,' so you'd think they'd coordinate something instead of just going out and making the reference. Mojang is far from out of reach. I just hope they don't screw up the referencing... Nothing matters, I'm no longer here.

You'd think since they're both so nice, they'd try to coordinate, though. I'm surprised Comedy Central didn't reach out to Mojang on this, or at least inform them. I can see this making sense for other references they've made, but Mojang would gladly contribute if given the chance.

mega you're dumb
it's a satirical tv show
they don't ask permission of the people they satire
ever

All I'm saying is everyone knows Mojang would have gladly coordinated, and it's weird that they had to find out through rumors of all things.
