the game is completely unplayable for me without balkon's weapon mod because shooting the muskets in that mod is the most satisfying thing in the entire game lol

Gotta agree. I like the idea of different weapons having different strengths and weaknesses, while the vanilla game just has melee and ranged.

Muskets are expensive as stuff in general, but they're powerful obviously. Then there's the melee variants, and other stuff.

The Muskets, albeit expensive, would be useful for hardcore players [not the mode] and end-game usage.

Actually, villagers were never in beta, since they were added in 1.0.

Weren't empty villages around, among other old structures and the skeletons and zombies of those before you? A world after the apocalypse, the lone survivor, exploring the land and discovering the remains of civilization. Eventually, villagers came up from the mutational goo and started selling you stuff.
