i legitimately don't enjoy vanilla minecraft anymore

it's not fun after the charm of the game wears off

i can still be interested in the game when it's got a nice modpack on because the game has good potential; the mechanics are there, there just isn't enough meat on the bones to keep me entertained. except the combat mechanics lol

can you recommend any good modpacks that still leave the vanilla feel to the game, while still bringing something unique and entertaining to the table? i don't want anything over the top - just something that will make the game more interesting

also, are there any mods that fix horse physics? i've already lost characters with lots of diamonds multiple times due to suffocation in a wall, due to horses just clipping through them

the closest i can think of is hexxit, but it's still p heavy. it adds a bunch to the game to bring out the exploration aspect much more effectively.

you don't have to really do much mining, you can find most things above ground, and a lot of the best equipment you'll get is from loot and mob drops. the only thing is that it's pretty difficult, so i typically turn on keepInventory to relieve a lot of stress

the right modpack is really dependent on what you like best about the game

alright: i've had HORRIFIC luck with keeping Horizons servers, primarily due to progressively worse chunk errors and broken inventories, so i'm looking for anyone (anyone) with a 2.1.0 server. private, public, whitelist, blacklist, if i have to suck a richard, ok, but it has to work.
