Does wanting to stay true to the classical LEGO building fashion make us 'younger, less advanced players' and immature as well?

I've built with the wand for quite some time, but I love going oldschool, because there are actually limits, and it's quite challenging.

why do things have to be realistic eh? we have sq headed, claw handed, box chested, legs with no knees.arms with no elbows, jetpacks, and teleporters...that all doesnt seem very realistic so why cant we have floating bricks, build through bricks. Editor wands, and build into and under terrain?

Building under and into terrain/interiors leads to bricks that cannot be destroyed or even seen.  Its simple playability.

That's very foolish logic.

Well, that's not to mention the lack of any F11 whatsoever on dedicated servers.

i would love for no one to mod brick in brick, floating brick, or editing onto retail.

:D then people can start being creative.
im never impressed by wanded builds.
(but sad to admit ive used it before, mainly to reduce lag)

i would love to just stack thousands 4x2's instead

I made a video of the current build, Beta City. We have been working on it a while...

Most of the lag is created by me running MSN and the video capture software, but the city is beginning to lag noticibly, well, when you look at the framerate numbers anyway.

This 16MB file is 2:40 long. You can see the blink and undulation effects being used, as well as a few others, if you look really hard. The first 10 seconds are of the start mission GUI, because I just downloaded this recording software, and I'm still learning to use it...

Also, with the new way bricks are rendered, I have no clue whether streaching or building bricks inside other bricks is even possible. You might not even be able to place them inside eachother, because they might disapper. You would have to take out the code that hides the faces that are not shown, which would make the new brick system pointless, and decrease the number of bricks you could place over all.

The reason RTB had build in bricks, was to fill in the holes in the arch bricks, I believe. That isn't a problem in Retail, first of all, because there are no arch bricks, and second, because the one wierd shaped brick in the game, you can build in the gaps without getting a brick inside brick error.

Really cool video Wedge.
I didn't saw any bricks in the spawn that you could pick up like v0002, nor any inventory thing, there was this thing at the bottom of the screen where that inventory should of been, but doesn't look that inventory-ish. The bricks look very cool, I like the new colors.

BTW, when you passed trough that "tunnel" or what ever you call it, there were two guys, one was Mocheeze, who was the second?

I love the new paint can. <3 I was hoping to see some jello bricks in that video. :(

* El Barto wishes he had retail more

Also...great job on the start up menu!

i saw 1 jellow brick right as he got to the monopoly board

Did nobody see the blue jello bricks that I paused and recorded for several seconds, right before I moved onto the monopoly board?

The flashing bricks are also located on the board, on the electric company space.
