Hello me :D

This thread reminded me about this depressing book am suppose to read over the summer :(, damn school.

What our school system needs is something that can help people learn the way they learn. I, being one who can sit and listen to a guy yapping all day can deal but I know quite a few people who learn better by doing hands on work or by singing a song. It is how we are learning, not what we are learning with.
I agree and  :cookie: 's for you, but year round is a bad idea AFK for bout 10-15 m

No thank you. I was talking to Nitramtj about the problem. I found out in math easy that I could not stand doing any projects about anything. I would just get bored and half ass it. I learn better by maps and lectures.

Going by what This is, I fit what is called spacial intelligence. I am good with distance and other spacial things. I can easily tell an object's size with a picture given I can see it well enough. Number 8 also fits me well.

I wouldn't mind a year-round school. Mostly because we need as much education as we can get. I would rather be smart and stressed, than a dumbass who is still stressed with what we already have.

It's not a matter of how much they're trying to drill it into your heads, it's a matter of them teaching you in a way you understand. Just "MORE OF WHAT WE'RE DOING, IT'S NOT WORKING" isn't going to work.

Exactly what I am saying.

Pretty much. With the extra time we end up getting, we do that, plus there is a chance we can learn more before it's time for the next grade.

You, my friend, know nothing. I support this idea. Actually, you get a week or two break every couple months. You get the same exact days off as summer vacation just scattered throughout the year. We would all be smarter and not lose all of the damn things we learned over summer. God knows the forum needs to be smarter! All you people do all day is chomp these forums. Lol. Doing things every day will make you not be couch potatoes. Get girlfriends ^.^

I think it's a mediocre idea.

i go to a very advanced school, im going into 9th grade and am going to take pre-calc, and the lessons are designed to end the day before the last day of school. if i had school year round with that, im pretty sure my head would explode and bones would impale others, as well as people's designing the course. i dont like the idea but from what messes said, he is kind of right that it would be better to have breaks every few weeks. However i dont lose much during the summer, and im learning a lot more torquescript and C++, so its a mixed message.

Couldn't bother to read more than the first posts, but there's a year-round school district one city over from me, my mom worked there like 7 years ago, it's not that bad. There's tons of breaks that are longer than our lame 3 day weekend breaks, but they just don't have nearly as long of a summer. It's not like on monday you're in 10th grade and then on teusday the new school year starts and you're in 11th grade, you get breaks. (I didn't mean 1 day school years lol)

I'd be homeschooled if there was year round school.

Exactly what I am saying.

Sorry, I didn't actually read the topic at all.

Yeah, before they had what was basically an entire branch of classes to help develop manual skills and techniques. They should really consider bringing those back.

Although the common problem is work in many of those is quickly disappearing from industries, what with the increase in automation. It would still be extremely beneficial to those kids though.
