Author Topic: Fallout 3 tips  (Read 1758 times)

I'm just renting it, but I might buy it. Or get it for my birthday. (July 22nd! :D)
So, anyone got some tips? And, the guy on the case in the heavy armor. Do you have to choose to be a certain class? And are there even classes? (Read about classes on fallout3wiki)

No classes. You just need power armor training, which is obtained through the game.

There's also no limits, it's a freeform game.

For starters, get your Explosives skill to 25 so you can Disarm the bomb in megaton and get a free house. :D

Or blow it up, Which i don't do. Because i like the town.

Also, (don't inform me about megaton, I already know.) does bloddy mess amke more gore? (is there even bloody mess perk? fallout wiki lies I think)

Bloody mess is the old fallouts made people die in the worst way possible, if you shot a rat. The rat poped like a ballon with blood and guts everywhere. If I remember correctly then bloody mess was obsolete.

I got it! :D! It just finished updating!

When someone is shooting at you, drop a mine and run backwards around corners. Their brainless chasing of you will usually kill them before you even need to fire off a shot.

you dont even have to get your explosives to that. take a pack of mentats right before your disarm the bomb. also theres this place called Old Olmy. or something like that. take your gun and fire wildly up into the air and run around, if you do that long enough you will get a special prize!

Flying bananas can't talk they only want you to think they can. That will come in handy.

I killed off all the raiders in SD Mart, but can't find any food or medicine for Survival Guide quest.

Then go back and tell Moira how you couldn't find anything.

the food is in a fridge to the right of the entrance, the medical stuff is behind a locked door which also has a protectron

Can somebody actually tell me how you hack?

I guess you have to find a word relating to the building or something?

and what does the "#/# correct" mean?

from the vault:

Quote
You will be presented with a list of words, all of the same character length, interposed with random characters. One of the words is the correct password, and your goal is to guess it. You choose a word by clicking on it. If you didn't guess correctly, the terminal will display "x/y correct" where x is the number of correct letters, and y is the word length. It is important to realize that a letter is correct only if it is in the right spot. For example, if the password is "RELEASED" and you choose "DETECTOR" then you will be told that there are 2/8 correct because there are 'E's in the 2nd and 4th place for both. The words have other letters in common, like 'R', but it is in the first spot in one word, and the last in the other. You have four attempts to select the correct password. Higher difficulties mean more letters in each of the words (ranging from 4-5 on Very Easy terminals to 10-11 on Hard terminals to 12+ on Very Hard terminals). The Player character's skill level in Science determines how many possible choices are on-screen (higher = fewer words to choose from).

also look for lines witch have opening and closing brackets in them like: <> [] () and []

so if you see something like this <*%]>)(@, you hover over the opening bracket it will highlight like this <*%]>)(@, doing this removes fake passwords or gives you all your tries back
