Author Topic: Zombie Survival list  (Read 88272 times)

It has been confirmed in the Zombie Survival Guide ('tis a book) That a Xiaolin Blade and a Crowbar are amazing for killing zombies. Xiaolin Blades are light, and have one purpose. DECAPITATION. Anyway, here's my list:

Stuff in backpack
  • Map/Atlas
  • Water and Food
  • Radio
  • Light tent and something to sleep on (sleeping bags may be too heavy/big)
  • A purple cutting laser
  • Medkit
  • Some ammo. (I'm no gun expert.)
  • Tools and such
  • Chargable Batteries
  • Small Generator
  • Rope
  • Gas Mask
Stuff near my hands and strapped on the pack
  • A Gun, not sure which'd be best though.
  • Crowbar
  • Xiaolin Blade
  • Flashlight
  • Flare Gun

I probably missed a lot, but I'm too tired.

My hunting knife (with a lot of survival stuff in the hilt, fish hooks, matches, etc.)
A .357 revolver with 5 boxes of ammo having 500 rounds per box
A hunting rifle with a scope and 2 100-shot boxes of ammo
A good friend who can help me out
A SPAS-12 shotgun
A radio (so I can listen for other human transmissions)
Plenty of canned food and bottled water
A can opener
A map of how to get to places of importance (military base, supermarket, etc.)
A good car with a full gas tank and the keys
A gas mask
A crowbar
A water purification thing
A couple of books so I dont get bored
A box of elbow-length latex gloves (so I dont get infected with anything while treating the injured)
First-aid kit

I wou;d then drive to my cabin in the Adirondacks, own any zombies in the area, and wait. Just wait.

I believe that I would have a dezombification ray gun thing.

A time machine to stop the zombies :0

Household items:
A pointy, sharp knife.
A fishing hook.
A pair of scissors.
And a handheld radio just in case the military says that the invasion is over.
Survival Items:
Large Camping Backpack.
Lighter.
Map.
Instructions on how to hotwire any vehicle.
Firearms/Armor:
.45 Colt, 124 bullets. (Dad's Closet.)
FN SCAR, 90 bullets. (Nearby Firearms store, I live in the urban area.)
Kevlar vest and helmet. (Police Station.)
Scarf. (I don't want the damn monsters biting my neck.)
Jock strap. (I don't want them biting my crotch off either.)

  • My set of scooter handlebars1
  • Clothing
    • Military surplus pants
    • Light t-shirt
    • Regular running shoes
    • Hat (possibly an Akubra)
  • Backpack
    • Tinned food
    • A bag of lemons2
    • Spare clothing3
    • A few good books
    • An umbrella3
  • Mobile phone w/ inbuilt GPS & shortwave radio

1. They're light, but hefty enough to crack a skull. They slide out/compact, so take less space, and have enough jagged areas to provide that extra cracking but not to the point where they're likely to get stuck in anything.
2. Lemons are delicious and prevent scurvy. Arr.
3. Nothing like wet clothing to slow you down.

I wouldn't need a jumper, as moving at night is generally a better idea, since you tend to exert yourself less when it's colder and the movement will keep your warmed (or at least I do) - and sleeping during the day also means you don't need to carry blankets unless it's a very cold day.

You'll also note that there are no firearms in there - firearms are large and heavy, the noise would theoretically attract more zombies, and you need to worry about ammo. Plus I live in Australia, although there are several .22 and .30 rifles in this house.

I'm also quite a ways out of town - about 25 minutes drive from the nearest major city, which is too far to walk. I'd really have no worries for at least several days before any more than 1-2 even came near my house, and probably weeks or months before they started to come this far out in any real numbers. I could probably stay here until Christmas, since we have steel shutters on all the windows and glass doors.

Success.

You mean the Lee-Enfield or Lever? I have a Lee. Its a good gun with a nice caliber and stopping speed but extremely heavy. Seriously. It is wood and metal.

Going to update list a bit and it'll be easier to read:
  • Clothing
    • Long sleeve shirt
    • Cargo Pants
    • Knee high rubber boots
    • Hoodie with hood tucked in unless of rain/cold (Tucked in because it's one less thing for a zombie to grab)
    • Work gloves
    • Goggles/Sunglasses
  • Backpack/Pockets
    • Large Waterbottle
    • Sewing kit
    • Flintstones (Preferably on a necklaces so that if I lose my backpack, I can still make a fire)
    • Knives (More than just one in case I lose any)
    • Map of local area (I'll get new ones if I travel a long ways)
    • Whetstone
    • Canned food and a couple of boxes of cereal
    • Hand-Crank LED Flashlight
    • Hand-Crank Storm Radio
    • First-Aid Kit
    • Small set of basic tools
  • Weapons
    • Machete
    • Both a .22 and a 9mm pistol (Commonly found ammo, I'd swap out for the lightest weight pistols I can find)
    • 12 gauge shotgun (Commonly found ammo, swap out for the lightest weight rifle I can find)
    • I'd look for silencers so I won't draw as much attention to me
    • Possible: BB/Pellet Gun (Depending if it can kill or not. If it does, I might just take that instead of the rifle)
  • Transportation
    • A mountain bike (I'd can find/loot/steal one of these if given the opportunity)
    • -I'd travel in groups of about 4, small enough to check for bites/have enough food, but large enough to hold out in an area for a few days.
    • First place I'd travel is to the nearest gas station, and from there, the nearest superstore. Once at the superstore, I'd scout for zombies, then after eliminating them, find CB-Radios and scan for other survivors. I wouldn't stay in once place too long or get comfortable because once you start doing that, you find that you have more necessities then there are really necessary. Eventually, I'd try to get to the nearest Cosco or other store like it.

I'm going to criticize you a bit M:

A phone might not be the best idea. If cellphone towers get knocked down, then you're pretty much out of luck. Also, charging could be a hassle.

Traveling during the night also limits your visibility. You wouldn't be able to see zombies as well, and spooked survivors might shoot at you thinking your a zombie.

As for guns, while some of them are pretty heavy, they're getting lighter and lighter. I'd at least have one gun. Fatigue can play a huge part while fighting, and after killing a few zombies, you can get pretty tired. At the least, I'd have a handgun for backup. At the most, I'd have several guns for defending against mobs of zombies. If there are only one or two zombies, I'd use a sword or blunt object.

Anti-Zombie Spay.

Spay? Are you going to neuter the male zombies also?

I would also probably hook up some H-bombs to blow up random buildings in the city.  Stand on the highest building and you can watch the zombies run for you in the rubble.
