Author Topic: What Cars?  (Read 444 times)

I think it would be cool to add buildable cars. I mean the New lego Online game is just like Blockland and its going to have it so players can make driveable cars. If a Room of Really smart Scriptures can do I'm sure a forum of underage blocklanders can do it as well.

I think many have tried and failed.  Someone would need to make a script extender like in oblivion to have it even BEGIN to be possible.

1. Nobody has, Because its not possible.
2. Script extender? What?

It's not possible because bricks are locked to a grid.

script extenders give more options for lines in scripts so people don't spend 8 days making a long script using weird-ass combos that they can currently work with, and those lines can be compiled into one line of text.  Also, there are more things you're allowed to do with scripts with less lag.

No matter how many lines of TorqueScript you write, there is no way to change the engine to have the bricks off the grid.

Play gmod.  Build cars/planes/boats/mechs/flying couches/hover cars/etc.

I don't know much about this Lego-online game you are talking about but...

If its an actual Lego-endorsed game, then they will have a lot more money to spend on the game than Badspot does, and of course will be able to feature a lot more in their game, because it is Lego, and not Eric Hartman's Blockland.

You should also understand that it is high probability that this Lego game uses a very different game engine than Torque, and therefore does not simply use some torque-scripting to put it all together.

Just because game developers from another game can do something, doesn't mean Blockland modders can produce the same stuff here.
