Author Topic: TF2 external idlers get stuff removed  (Read 19695 times)

You're cheating because it was a system meant to give unlocks through normal play of the game.  Most normal people don't boot a game to go away from it.  So Valve fixed that you could through spectator mode.  Now you're cheating even more, because you don't even have to boot the game.  Using the idler isn't like playing the game, because simply, you aren't.  You're just leaving a program up, that's all.  No playing involved.
are you even listening to him?
Hes saying you could do the same god damn this IN GAME.

What?

What?
You can do the same thing as idling IN GAME. Just sitting there.

Which would probably get you kicked or something.

You don't have to play the game to participate. Standing in a server doing nothing is still the same thing. That's not cheating though.

He seems to be too inept to understand or read my posts fully.
What?
YOU CAN IDLE IN-GAME, WITHOUT AN EXTERNAL PROGRAM, IN ANY SERVER.

Idle server.

Well, time to do the OLD idle method.

Well, you'll still get items removed ._.

If you've completed an achievement for an item and lost all instances of that item you will get the item back tomorrow. We'll have a second query run that will fix-up that case.

They wouldn't be able to tell unless they went one-by-one and compared playtime to kills/deaths.
Then again they might get players who are just really bad.

Why do you guys idle?  It really takes away from a big part of the game, earning achievments such as weapons and hats.

BECAUSE I'M SO SUPERIOR, RIGHT?   Read my damn posts.  Valve wants you to play their game, and I bet valve will make a new requirement to unlock stuff.  You're literally doing nothing to get stuff.  Life doesn't work that way.  You might actually find out you like the game, when trying to get your stuff back.  If it's so fun, why aren't you playing it to get unlocks?  And Valve is being REALLY nice right now, you don't deserve anything, IMO.  You cheated, too bad.

my pryos beanie is gone and that wasnt from idling :(

I never cared about the items/hats. The game was fun so I played it.

Now look at all the stuff I have.

I felt so bad about idling when I did it, now, those halos will haunt me for ever. :(

i didn't get a halo D:

Because I can't play the game while I'm sleeping. I let the idler run through the night.

My god, you're an idiot. It's a system based on CHANCE. It doesn't favor ANYONE. You could potentially play for 5 minutes and unlock things that veterans have yet to get.

Definitions of chance on the Web:

opportunity: a possibility due to a favorable combination of circumstances; "the holiday gave us the opportunity to visit Washington"; "now is your chance"
luck: an unknown and unpredictable phenomenon that causes an event to result one way rather than another; "bad luck caused his downfall"; "we ran into each other by pure chance"

YOU DON'T DO ANYTHING TO FIND HATS OR ITEMS, IT'S ENTIRELY RANDOM. YOU DO NOT INFLUENCE IT SIMPLY BY PLAYING THE GAME.
Jesus christ you're dense.
Life doesn't work that way.

Definitions of lottery on the Web:

something that is regarded as a chance event; "the election was just a lottery to them"
players buy (or are given) chances and prizes are distributed by casting lots

GOOD. I play the game. I love the game. I've been playing since the Orange Box release and racked up 80 legitimate hours, and I've found 3 items, total, ingame.
Someone examined the system and found out that "every 5 hours you roll an 80-sided die".
