I haven't given server reputation much thought. I know it's something Badspot's been thinking about and he's certainly in a better position to produce a quality implementation so I'll see if he does anything before putting any thought or action towards it.

Apparantly mod bot is posting the wrong thumbnail urls. http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=107404.0

She seems to have missed some sort of file modification or was using some outdated data. I'll address it when I next refactor her.

Some fixes to the IRC client would be nice to see. Sometimes when I do something, all my player messages turn blank. I can't describe it any better.

The IRC client is no longer supported in active development.

Server reputation would be stupid. If someone joins the server and spams bricks then gets banned for it, they will rate it 1/5.

Yeah this is an issue where all the chats you have open will become empty when you disconnect a server, or something like that. The IRC has been retired as of v4 and replaced with a more effective IM system instead so the IRC won't be getting any bugfixes unless v3.4 comes out in which case I may resolve some of the more pertinent ones.

Server ratings would likely not be based on player input, but more on the player's actions and server activity.

So you mean that blockland on it's own will rate the server?

Doesn't that kind of system exist already? Players online that is...

Please make these things in the new website:
a) an RSS feed for the main website, with news updates, rtb updates and this mod has been updated/this mod is new.

This way people can keep up to date with rtb developments and new add-ons (even though you post here more often and we can just check rtb listings - it'd be a handy dandy thing to have)

b) an RSS feed for an add-on developers activity, "Ephialtes just updated the shotgun.", "Ephialtes just released a new *type of add-on*!","Mocheeze just commented on Ephialtes' Shotgun." (maybe this part could be like an optional get parameter, because I can imagine it being spammy for some people)

This way people can subscribe to their favourite add-on makers and know what they are doing add-on wise. I would also subscribe to my own simply so I knew when someone commented on my add-ons.

There will be RSS feeds available for pretty much everything. You'll also be able to get the RSS feed for your activity stream (as seen in the FileCP). Subscribing to submitters is also on the list. The in-game news feed will have an out-of-game RSS feed available too.

News updates are going to be much more regularly posted on the RTB website since I won't have to deal with wordpress and I can have one of the RTB Robots post those announcements into relevant threads on these forums to save me time. This too will have RSS.

Awesome.

You're really going all out with this new site. Sounds like it's going to be great.

Really looking forward to the API too, I have some ideas of things to make.

When you don't have to work around stupid phpBB or stupid WordPress it makes it a lot easier to implement features nicely, so building this website entirely from nothing means it'll be the best one yet for sure.

The API is a long way off though - I'll be starting work on that after v4 and after all RTB online functionality has been moved over to the new website (and by moved over I mean entirely re-written).
