Will the new website support replying to comments?

I've had no intention to, but it could be useful. Can you define what you'd expect to see in this feature? Would it be limited to just an author replying to commenters or could you then have a commenter replying to the author who commented on his comment?

It gets more complicated if you want it to be more than 1 comment deep.

Maybe in the title of the comment just add who it is at, like @Destiny, or @Variable/Conditional Events. You could make it cool and add a thing that indented the comments when you clicked it.

It depends on whether people want multi-tiered replying. If it's just youtube style then I'll go with some indentation and coloring.

I haven't seen many people replying to other replies, so I suppose multi-tiered wouldn't be used as much unless the original poster was informed that someone replied to them. Maybe with a message in their news section linking them straight to the comment.

Huh, I see people commenting on others who have commented on an add-ons in nearly every add-on.

You could do either as Google wave does, or something like Stack Overflow forum does, where there's the main comments/posts, and then you comment those posts.
Example

I have no interest in Google Wave so I have no idea what it does, and the StackOverflow one doesn't seem to lend itself well to formatting (such as code blocks or quote blocks) in the replies.

I'm going to go with a basic ability for the submitter to reply to a comment which can start a sub-thread which can then be replied to but will still stay at a depth of one. Like so:

+ Comment
+ Comment
+ Comment
+ --- Reply (by Submitter)
+ --- Another Reply
+ --- Another Reply
+ Comment
+ Comment

Comment threads aren't very detailed discussions so it'd be a waste of time to do so much work on them and multi-level commenting is a total pain in the ass from my perspective both in code structure and layout integration.

I'm assuming you'll have reply buttons on each of the comments, and that's how you start the sub-conversation. Could you have reply buttons on the replies to comments as well? Not to indent it further; it would just place the comment below the previous one in the sub-convo. That way, if people want to reply to a reply to a comment (awkward wording), they can do it without being confused that they have to click the reply button on the original comment. It'll also prevent pages from getting messy with indentation.

For example, when I click the reply button on the underlined reply, it would put my reply where the bold reply is, like this:

+ Comment
+ --- Reply (by Submitter)
+ --- Another Reply
+ --- Another Reply
+ --- Another Reply

Not this:

+ Comment
+ --- Reply (by Submitter)
+ --- Another Reply
+ --- Another Reply
+ --- + --- Another Reply

If there are any other critical bugs in RTB that people know of (no suggestions please) then if you could re-post them here that'd be good. I'd like to try and squeeze some into v3.4.

For RTB preferences like duplicator prefs, it should display what was updated. If it is a drop down such as:
Admin controls
Kick: Admin/Super admin (Pick which one)

When you change it, it will say -Admin controls- Kick changed to super admin

Or

Baseplate required size
Size: 16x16, 32x32 (Pick which one)

it will say -Baseplate Required Size- Size changed to 16x16

It would work the same way with number values:

Auto Saver
Minutes between auto saving:
  • (I will pick 27 as my number of minutes)

it will say -Auto Saver- Minutes between auto saving changed to 27

even better a dropdown menu for RTB server prfs.
> JVS
^Auto saver
Mins to save:27
