the only time you're ever going to have enough sheer accuracy to hit something at X range reliably is if you're standing stock still, and if ANYONE's even REMOTELY competent they'll kill you while you're busy being a sitting duck

the reason the pistol is a secondary weapon is that is not only is there a small possibility for error through the fact it's semiautomatic but the fact that all the other weapons actually have knockback: the purpose of which is to set the other player for a loop, by displacing them and having them readjust their accuracy, long enough to be pumped full of lead with another shot

it's also built as a 'attention getter' weapon: if your primary weapon isn't particularly good at ranged combat (IE: not a sport rifle, assault rifle, etc) then you start unloading with the pistol until you get into range

the magnum, conversely, is built to output so much knockback that it lets the player switch to their primary weapon (with a little ammo, presumably) to smack him around until he dies

also tier tactical != optimized for vehicular combat, and shotguns are made to be less powerful (not firing fast enough, for instance) if they run out of ammo, instead of just making the player defenseless while they reload (and then quickly empty the clip anyway). it's a compromise for the fact that it's power diminishes over range, mostly due to the fact you can literally just step out of the way

tl;dr stop using such big maps

You never stated that in the above waltext.
SO how can it be the conclusion of that text? ;P

the only reason raycast weapons are ever considered unbalanced (besides them actually being unbalanced, even if it wasn't raycasting) is because other projectiles can't hit their targets in nearly the same time

it's basically the compare and contrast between the sniper rifle and 880 rifle; they do the same damage, have approximately the same range, etc, but the 880 is instant hit and reaches the target faster

True.
That's why Badspot needs to raise the projectile speed.

I think as long as raycasting weapons aren't too accurate, it's OK with some. If a whole pack was raycasting... not too good.

So i don't win the prize for getting the weapon right?

Which is why Maxwell is a smart host and doesn't use the ray casting T+T weapons on his Valley TDM. :D

If a whole pack was raycast and the damage was relative to each other (Pistols do less than assault rifles which do less than sniper rifles, etc) then it wouldn't be overpowered as it's own pack, just overpowered in comparison to other blockland weapons.

best weapon pack in the history of the universe.

Exactly. Although he should replace the Gun with the Pistol, seeing as everyone uses it to snipe or blast away once their main gun is out of ammo.

Tell that to the snipers. If a sniper raycasts, it's cheap unless it's in a tiny arena, offsets accuracy, and/or deals less-than-lethal damage. On the other hand, if you have it not 100% accurate, sniping is luck rather than skill. I think a mix is good.

I think every raycasting weapon should be dumped, no matter how long it took to make the damn things. How many loving idiots with Military Snipers do I have to get killed by before everyone realises that it is, AS A MATTER OF FACT, unfair? I mean, I think adjusting your sight for the current direction, speed, and distance of the target and your own player/vehicle should be some kind of basic thing that most(if not all) players know and understand. If we fight with the same weapons at a good 250 distance, I should kick their ass because I know how to aim and fire properly, not because I pointed right at their face and clicked before they could. I might sound like it, but I don't do this to be an starfish to you all, I do this because I wanna have a Death Match like we used to.

then why the forget are you using tier+tactical

futhermore BACK IN MAH DAY, THE MILITARY SNIPER KILLED IN ONE HIT ANYWHERE ON THE BODY, CAUSED SEVERE IMPULSE, WAS INCREDIBLY ANTI-AIRCRAFT AND HAD THE BEST MODEL EVER

WE CALLED IT THE SNIPER RIFLE
