Oh hooray

sorry for not getting back to you, I just finished my first college finals. If you could give Tingalz administrative access that would be just dandy

Do you have his ID? He'll need an RTB account

I've setup a spacebuild server, you guys are invited to participate. I've got nothing else to host so it should be up for the remainder of the 3 month contract at least; if interest is decent, I have no issues with hosting it indefinitely.

I can see why one might want to replicate the survival mechanics of Minecraft, but why copy its appearance? There is an opportunity to create something better than source material.

Comrade, can you receive PM's?

Those are all terrible brown townogies. These are hosting services, not discrete products.

Here is a slightly better one: They are like the utility companies you purchase your electricity from. There is little difference in the quality of the electricity you are provided but one company has their billing-payment office on the rough side of town where you're afraid to park your car and alterations to your contract are made through the homeless guy sitting outside. Oh, and the competitor conveniently provides your cable, phone, and internet services at no-charge to you.

Support has been great so far; the response times are low and fixes happen quickly.

Thanks guys, keep it up!

If you've got RTB just go to Server Control in the admin menu and hit the Auto Admin tab and add the ID there. There's no way to do it from the interface yet.

Alternatively you can set the following in your console:

Code: [Select]
$Pref::Server::AutoAdminList = "id1 id2 id3";
$Pref::Server::AutoSuperAdminList = "id4 id5 id6";

Hmm, the GUI won't open for me in-game. My copy of RTB may be out-of-date. The console command worked though. Thanks.

It's been awhile since I've hosted a BL server so perhaps I'm missing the obvious; how do I auto-admin certain ID's that join the server?

This has probably been mentioned since there are 64 pages, but I barely browse general discussion so I didn't notice this. It would be cool if there was an option so that instead of payment advertisements would just be played every once in a while or something, but I doubt you guys would be willing to/even able to do that.

Putting aside the technical issues, the main problem with that idea is that the general audience on a Blockland server has little-to-no purchasing power; throwing ads up on a server wouldn't generate enough revenue to cover the cost of hosting it.

This was unintentionally hilarious; I like it.

%lpc is the player recieving the experience. So you're saying if im level 11 and i kill a level 1 i should recieve 10000000000 exp? Or was the ^ supposed to be a multiplication sign?

Oh, I had that backwards but I did mean to use it as an exponent. How about:

if (enemylevel > playerlevel)
  %exp = 2^(enemylevel - playerlevel)
else
  %exp = 10*enemylevel
