It was nothing like Fallout in my opinion, in other words you felt like you were playing some shooter and something you are fimilar with. Sure it had destroyed stuff and ruined cities and sand, but it lacked the humor from the first game and retro  looking weapons. The characters in Fallout 3 are pathetic, for example if choose to disarm the bomb and roam the wasteland doing hero work and return to megaton only to see some overzealous black lady who worships you and gives you free stuff. Harold the mutant has changed too. In the first Fallout he was a mutant down on luck and he would tell you his story of his life. He was would humor you alot. In Fallout 2 he has a branch growing out of his head, he still humors you, but he take things a little more seriously. In Fallout 3 Bethesda turns him into a depressed person who always talks like the the world is going to end. In the end Bethesda ruined the game and steals from Interplay. Fallout 3 is ok, but not great as Fallout 2 was for me

I took out all the parts that weren't valid points.

I have to agree with Rkynick on this one. Fallout 3 is not a bad Fallout game and I think it fits well with the rest of the series.

I recently picked up the old trilogy pack and have been playing through the first game. In my experience, the only significant differences between the original game and FO3 is that the original has an annoying interface/combat system and the quest system is awful. To me the depth and skillful implementation of storytelling is equally well done.

Most of the characters in the games are two dimensional due to the fact that there are so many of them and they only need to serve a few basic functions. So far in FO1 I've yet to see any real character development, but I have witnessed it in FO3; the father figure, President Eden, Elder Lions?, Fawkes, etc.

does this save?

the game i mean will it save what i do?
