This is the age of information, or have you not noticed. We live in a world where propaganda can sway the masses to unspeakable acts of evil, while critical, rational thinking can push people to incredible acts of good. You need to arm yourself to the teeth with information and common sense to even hope to assess all the opinion-laden information that bombards you daily. Otherwise you open yourself up to manipulation, to stuff like "bbrown townity of evil" (of national socialist Germany fame). You have a brain, you should use it.

As for your whole argument about opinion or argument being equal/having zero worth or whatever, arguments can always have a little more weight then others which puts holes in that idea of yours. This is completely natural, some opinions are a much more accurate depiction of reality or real events then other opinions. "I think clouds are made of water" has more weight then "I think clouds are made of elephants". Neither are 100% right, but one is still more right then the other.

The information age was a couple decades ago. Insert your own slowpoke joke here. And any information can be easily manipulated to control the masses, or have you never heard of communist China and North Korea?

My argument was about how information sources have no real basis outside of personal experience when it comes to supporting real ethical debates. Both sides of this whole Turkey Vs. Israel goof-up are spewing propagandist information to make outside influences supportive to their causes. That's just how governments work when they can't deal with something on their own. You can't place 100% faith in anything either side says because you'll find way too many contradictory bits of the story.

It also depends heavily on the people who were involved in the incident. How honest were they when they were debriefed/interviewed? Were they told to state a particular statement to save face? You can never know for sure. Even the blurbs of video I have encountered show no clear spark on who started it, just people in a massive beat down with each other on a ship.

That's why I stated if it truly was a ship on humanitarian aid, they had no reason to become violent. Passive resistance usually gains the most sympathy and I'm sure this would have been solved by now and clear proof of who was in the wrong would have been evident.
