Will you release anything new this Halloween like some bugs or some MAS stuff?
Bugs and MAS employees don't have time to celebrate Halloween. :C

It would be nice if something was released sometime soon. That way people could play with whatever was released while some other stuff is being worked on.

I'm pretty sure when MAS command is happy with how something is 'done' it'll get released. Possibly what'll be next is Poison Support and a Mod1 update, if not another MAS weapon system. Then again, I'm just the tester and hoster so... :S

Well, we will find out sooner or later.

To: Strike Team Lightning, MAS West Control
Subject: Mission Briefing, Operation Armor Core
-----

As you have no doubt been informed, Strike Team Lightning will temporarily be reinforced by the Nova Aspect of MAS Angoria, due to a unfortunate reactor overload destroying their base. I hope that all forces will try to make sure the guests are relatively undisturbed as they await their new base's completion.

Enough chitchat however, a new mission has arrived for Lightning in the meantime:

The foundry in sector ABBCD120582 has been compromised, and a bug hive is threatening the operation of the site. Normally MAS Operatives in the area aren't sanctioned for interfering near a known military operation zone, however the Military is busy with other maneuvers, and MAS has been asked to step in.

The mission is simple: Clean out the bugs from inside the facility, and hold the location until further backup arrives to keep the area secure for final cleaning. Be warned, though: the insect armada may have compromised the building, and there may be entries through the walls or traveling through the vents.

Prepare your gear, you drop in 15. Ops out.

------

Fluff briefing out of the way, let's rock this with a further description of my new DM map, down to just finalized details and maybe a few more 'extras'.

First off, this is a Control Point mission, and my first foray into Slayer, so may be a bit rocky due to not much experience with the system.

Second, MAS will use my class builds I portrayed a few pages ago, but to compensate Bugs will have double the numbers (aka sort priority for teambalance), and access to vent locations. The vents will also hold healing zones for particularly skilled bugs, whereas MAS will have actual Medics to keep them healthy..

Third, like Army, bosses will make their appearance. As I don't got access to Swifty or Glisten, I'll have to do my best with what I got, and hopefully one surprise I dug up won't break the system much as I use it >:3

And now images!

A cap point, located in the Storage area of the map. There is technically 2 separate zones: Foundry Floor, and the Storage Area. Foundry has 2 cap zones, while Storage (and the halls nearby) have a whopping 5 control zones

A view from the Bug's side of a entry zone. I literally halfway LITTERED the map with these, so don't expect every area to be safe!

An example of a spawn room. I've not set up the actual Slayer spawns yet, but it's much more fancy then the word boards I have been using

The Foundry area proper. Totally needs more 'litter' doesn't it? :S I dunno why but it still feels too empty. Note, the 'molten metal' in the gutters WILL damage players, but not the ones in the buckets, allowing flying insects and MAS Jet Troopers perches beyond the public-access catwalk without fear of damage.

MAS's spawn exit. Note the field, that allows safety from projectiles on the other side, and prevents spawn area retreats. However, until further discussion, that IS the location of all the ammo for now.

Comments/Thoughts/Suggestions?

Looks really good Trinity!

The foundry area does looks somewhat empty, but that might be a good thing, since some of the larger bugs (scorpions especially) need lots of space to fight correctly.

EDIT: WIP Blue Wasp Model:

The head is a place-holder, and I will probably redo the center body. Yes the legs are horrible, I will redo them also.

The blue wasp looks cool so far. I can't wait to see what it will look like when it's done.
Will it have wings and be able to fly like the real thing?

Yes of course. What's a wasp without its wings? XD

Wow that wasp looks nice. Lol I still remember when I was on your server, fighting you with an SMG and a sentry. What bug were you using BTW? it looked like a transparent centipede.

I can see the similarities.
Maybe it is an idea to make his behind not connected to the rest of his body (like blockhead limbs aren't connected to their body).

But so far, looks nice, can't wait to see more progress.

My brother told me (the last time we were on your server) that there was a empty vehicle spawn next to the earwig in the bug spawn room. Is that for the blue wasp or it is for something else?

What bug were you using BTW? it looked like a transparent centipede.
If you's talking about what I think you's talking about, that would be the 'boss' bug, and the only one that's player-no-touchy (thus far)- the Dread Centipede. Basicly a stealth attack bug of DOOOOOOOOOOM.

My brother really likes the dread centipede . He thinks it's awesome.

It IS awesome.
