No you guys, it's okay.
They might actually be being smart about this.

We’ve been overjoyed by the enthusiasm and goodwill amongst the community since the start of the poll. There is clearly a super passionate group of RuneScapers who have shown that they are nostalgic for some Old School gameplay. As a gesture of our own goodwill and an aspiration for this newly established community to flourish and hopefully grow we will NOT be charging the additional $5 membership fee for at least the next 6 months!

** There will be no extra membership fee for at least 6 months. We will review this again in September and if the community is still active and growing then it will remain free.

Oh f2p is bullstuff these days anyway. $5/month is super cheap compared to most games.

I thought a membership was more than that.
But I still don't want to give them any money anymore. Their player base went from having a million people playing at once, to only 100 thousand people, and because of their own handicapation they lost money.

The community does seem a bit dead. Most servers are filled with scammers and bots, but just a couple of actual "players". Then again, those players are usually vets, so no actual new players.

forget. After not being able to play for a week i finally got to sign in on a work computer and of course the game is so judgemental that it assumed i spoke portuguese since i have a brazilian ip so it puts me in w47 where every person that talked typed in portuguese and i couldnt understand stuff. On top that, runescape was all portuguese even in game so i had to use 6 year experience to guess the layout by just clicking stuff and not trying to read it. :/

I think Jagex seriously planned this whole voting thing. They were losing members fast, so they did this to get more people to buy membership. just my opinion.

edit: i mean, like, they knew the voting would end somewhere around 500k.
