...has consumed my life. I pay 5 bucks a week to play Friday Night Magic at a local comic shop (Which isn't that close to me, so gas gets expensive), competing for prizes I know I won't win with my current decks. I just got done with this tournament called "The League" that took up the past 6 weeks, during which I spent $37 on and received 165 cards (Worth an estimated $70). And I spend a large majority of my free time play-testing decks and coming up with new strategies while researching cards on the internet.

Anyone else in the same boat, or for that matter, would like to hop in?

Do you do it for money or is one of those "for fun" tournaments.
I just want to know
faty

Magic is cewl, Although i've not played it for real, I've just watched and played the demo of the game on steam

I haven't played it, but I have roughly a deck of cards spread about a drawer.

It's "for fun" but with prizes, such as in-store cash. I defiantly don't' have a good enough deck to think about participating in any of the big tournaments that pass through. Plus those are pretty expensive to get into. And I'm not fat at all, quite the opposite.

It's really fun once you start playing. And it's much more fun in person than on the game.

You should try it sometime, it's really fun once you get the hang of the basic rules.

As for rules, they get pretty complicated once you start getting into it. It's got it's own logic system and everything.

It was the joke, lol
Stereotypism ftw

k then. Eh, the town I live in is boring and has nothing that was at least mildly fun like yours.

Actually, the comic shop is a few towns over from the one I live in. Driving has it's perks.

I remember whan that card game first came out. Made no loving sense. Yugioh was eaisier

Yu-Gi-Oh was 6 years after Magic.  In fact, you don't know about Magic on its release. You're 16, the game was first released in 1993.

I played it 1 time, my brain exploded half way through and I quit.

Hmm. Nevermind then. Let me rephrase that:

The rules aren't that hard to learn.
You just have to be older then 14.

There's a kid that plays in the shop who places quite high and he's 10 or 11. You just have to learn the rules and the logic, the rest is easy.

And while Yu-Gi-Oh! is easier, it's not quite as fun, IMO and in the opinion of many others.

I used to play Wagic: The Homebrew for PSP but I got tired of it.

I play Yu-Gi-Oh!, and I've seen people playing Magic. Looks fun enough. I'll stick with yugioh for a while though.
