MMmmm, maybe I came at a good time then. Any idea why I'm getting lines? Maybe it a texture setting or something or the exporter's settings?

So how do I get a material transparent-

I have a syringe model I made with a core inside of it.
Problem is, everytime I render it, I have to up the emitter value of the material for the core.
How do I get the outside material to where it will be transparent so the core can be visible without the emitter value upped?

Let me give you a picture of what I'm talking about.

The outside glass is supposed to be trans.

When it is trans-


Now the above has an emitter added to it. On the outside of the core you can see it's somewhat trans.
Without the emitter, it is just a grey color.

How?
The outside glass has it's own material, in which I set a trans and gave it a low alpha.
I render it with a colored core, and it shows up grey.
So therefore, I had to raise the emitter value.

I use background images for modeling in Blender 2.48, and if I use the navigation keys to look at my model, the background image disappears and I'm in a different top view, with the top camera a little to the right.

Is there a way to fix this?

(yes, who cares if I like using blender 2.48. I have 2.5, as you can see in the dock, but it's so different the Blender For Dummies I own is obsolete when It comes to blender 2.5.)

Demian, I figured out the trans problem.
Now blender is freezing and slowing down on me.

What was the problem? Also turn to BlenderArtists on that slowing down problem.

I didn't have any light source to show the Transparency.
And it was the file save that was corrupted.
sooo....
