DoublePoast and Bump

Demian, I got a problem.
I made a shotgun model with animations, and for some reason, it crashed when Zloff executed the animations.

Can you tell me what went wrong if I send you the .blend and .dts?

I've never worked with animations but I do know that you must animate in 2.49 if you want to export them.

Well....
I'll send them to you anyway to see if you can do a little trial and error to figure out what went wrong.

Hey Demian, I'm just starting up using Blender again after a good 8 months or so, so I'm a bit curious.

You suggest to model in Blender 2.57 and then export in 2.49 since the only DTS exporter available is for 2.49?

But can't you only have one version installed at a time?

Of course you can have multiple versions installed. I highly suggest you to model in 2.5 and export + animate in 2.49.

Oh, so animate in 2.5 as well?

Ok, because I stopped modelling for Blockland since before 2.5 came out, so I'll need a little re-adjusting.

You can't animate in 2.5. The animations don't move over to 2.49. The animation stuff is all different and better in 2.5 so it's not backwards compatible with 2.49.

My head is exploding. I have said this so many times now.

THE BLENDER DTS EXPORTER (ANY VERSION) ONLY, LET ME REPEAT, ONLY WORKS WITH BLENDER 2.49.

Ok so, and in this order:

1. Download and install Blender 2.49 and 2.57
2. Model in 2.57
3. Animate and then export 2.49

Got it.

Correct. Infact I'm going to write a guide on using and exporting Blender models right now.

How to get textures to show up in rendering?

How to get textures to show up in rendering?
By settings up the materials correctly. Here's the first video that comes to mind which shows how to do textures.

Okay.

I had exported a model using both empties and empty meshes.

But for some reason, the model is floating behind my player high up.
I exported several times, and so far, nothing has changed.
