Ha.

Do not buy the 950.

For 5 dollars more get the new Sandy Bridge 2600.

Hell yeah. And AMD boards are cheaper, too. With the money you save, you can get a better graphics card. And you don't need 1000W. Get atleast 650W.
I just found a six core for less the price :3

That's what I love about AMD. And for the motherboard I would recommend the M4A87TD EVO. It's all set to go with the 6-cores and is amazing. It's $110, too. So then you can get a better GPU.

Are you going to get a better graphics card or change your PSU?

I don't know...it is already over what I wanted to pay (this is all coming out of my pocket)
But if you can link me to a nice one i could check it out.

AMD's Phenom series is nowhere near as fast as intels 1155 chip. They are literally leagues apart. It isn't about cores or speed, it's about manufacturing and technology.

The 2500k is a waste IMO. The 2400 would give you the same performance for alot cheaper. I highly advise you to not go with AMD. There's a reason that they can sell six core processors for so little, they aren't very good. I wouldn't really listen to Halo right now.

For $75 you should be able to get a modular power supply. I highly adivse that you do that. The graphics card is still pretty terrible. Go with atleast the GTX 460 or the ATI 6850. Both are alot better.

Is a six core AMD worse an an intel i3

No. The i3's aren't very good. They're dual cores too. I would still urge you to get the 2400.

AMD's processors are fast. I think you're just overpaying for less Ghz from Intel then AMD, and AMD is better for gaming.

so much money i could use on other stuff with an AMD though...time to research

is i5 better then AMD six core?

You don't necessarily need a six core. I recommend either the X4 965 Black Edition or X4 970 Black Edition. They have more Ghz than the six-cores, and plus most games still require 2 cores.

That is not true when comparing 4 cores to 6 cores
