In all honesty, i'd wish they could stop making new pokemon and make a large project for a game that involves all regions, i've had that idea before when leafgreen came out.
The thing with that is, how would they go with leveling? You get to the Kanto elite 4 at Level 30, and beat them. You then get to the next Elite 4 at 40/50? And then 50/60? It would allow for a lot of flaws unless they came up with a powerful formula like in G/S HG/SS where the pokemon were very strong for their level.
And a Pokemon game that would allow you to explore every region? Like Junichi Masuda would ever be that awesome. It's like asking the Zelda team to make a game with a unique plot instead of collecting 3 magic stones, but you have to get the master sword so that you can fight ganon, but wait, there's more! You have to go through X more dungeons to get more magical items to take him down.
I mean, they made MM unique in that aspect, but still.

Also, every generation of pokemon had idiotic pokemon in appearance. It's just that they're trying to ease the games down for the newer generations.
