Author Topic: Zombies are People, Too [v3]  (Read 36001 times)

also i forget

does tank health/damage scale with total survivors
yes.

I can't tell if you like my idea, or hate it...

I read everything that gets posted here. Unless I'm really excited about something I'm not going to point it out and say "I'll add this" because I may forget. However, because I read it, there's a chance it'll lodge somewhere in my brain and end up in the final product.

You could add somewhat more zombies and stuff.

Add a screamer, something like that, he comes and screams attracting mobs.

similiar to the boomer but with a very bigger radius.

ear rape followed by death is not even pleasant for a zombie mod.

Will the Survivor Bot overhaul effect AI made in the current version?

And when I say that I mean regular Zombie AI.

Id like to know if I should hold off my Conversion of the Bug mod AI.

Because it would be a bitch to fix everything without an anger fueled late night progress rush.

it doesn't need to make a sound.

it doesn't need to make a sound.

Then why is it called a screamer?

Conversion really should not be difficult.

To make the dog work for ZAPT I literally just removed properties for Rot's mod and stuck : ZombieStandardArmor in the inheritance.

Maybe a check box to turn on/off advace zombie AI. As in, off would mean all the zombies would lock onto the closest player and try to attack them (like in Gamemode_Zombie). On would mean the zombies would only attack the player if they are attacked or the player is directly in front of them or if a zombie sees another zombie attacking a player.

Also, more standard zombies.
Zombie dumb: slow to everything, walking, responding to players, and other stuff.(like in the Dead Rising games.)

Zombie Smart: Fast to everything. (Like in L4d)

Then a zombie that is in-between Smart and dumb.

Better infection: If a player is attacked by normal zombies, nothing would happen. But if something like a hunter attacked them, they would have a sertant amount of time before they turn into a zombie. Then you could make items that would stop the player from turning into a zombie.

They already do this.
I placed down a few regular zombie spawns. Started a Zapt game with infection mode, with Outbreak turned off and an extended timer.

The director hasnt spawned them yet because im to far. ( I assume)

Walk a bit closer, and these guys will not stop coming.
I even got on top of those huts and they stacked up and jumped up their.

Why would you want dumb zombies? These do all your suggesting. The only diffrence is that if your in a building they will actually find a way inside instead of just run at the wall. They also jump in windows and on top of short buildings as well. Whats wrong with these guys again?

EDIT: I set the zombies to Regular in the minigame. So they always spawned Regular zombies.

ear rape followed by death is not even pleasant for a zombie mod.
it was in the alpha of Left 4 dead the Screamer did not ear rape it was a male that yelled and attracted hordes but he could only run away not attack you.

That should be readded.

during the making of Left 4 Dead, they made a screamer that attracted mobs. It was trashed because players didn't know to find the screamer and kill it, and it was hard to pinpoint. There was also another trashed one 4 L4D2 that was like a tank with metal spikes in it's back that it would throw at you. How about a wandering witch?

For those people that use dedicated minigame scripts, add an option to run ZAPT without the minigame GUI please.
