Author Topic: Black Ops is stuff.  (Read 13091 times)

They work on these games for 2 YEARS.
Just because they work on these games for 2 years doesn't mean they aren't worthless. World at War, Modern Warfare 2, and Black Ops would have been great booster packs for Call of Duty 4, but as it is they are just the same game in a different setting, which is not something they should be charging 60 bucks for.

Is Black Ops for Wii?

thank you

Marcem is an idiot.

Yes, the game sucks, and the only people who like it are the ones who JUST hopped in playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 only because of how hyped it was, and they are like "NEW GAME" and bought BO.

Also, IMO, the worst thing about Black Ops was how Treyarch decided "Hurp durp lets put 20 assault rifles, 20 SMG's, and 2 of everything else".

Excuse me, Treyarch, I actually like to use shotguns, LMG's, pistols, and Snipers.

Hell, I've been playing video games since I was 4, starting with Duke Nukem. I know a good/bad game when I play it. The only reason all these newcigarettes like it is because they never played a GOOD game in their life, and have nothing to compare it with so it seems like a godly game.

Really you're just whining about some really trivial things.  I don't like the game too much at this point, it's boring.  I don't feel the need to rage at it though.  I've gotten 150 hours out of it, I think the game was decent.  It has it's issues, but none of them are what you're mindlessly raging about.  also you must have run out of arguments or something, seeing as you're just going "marcem = idiot lololol" now.
but as it is they are just the same game in a different setting
Just because they are the same basic game doesn't mean that they aren't great multiplayer games.
See, I can do what you did!  I took a comment out of context and spewed random bullstuff!

It's much easier to balance a bunch of automatic weapons, with the other categories, you get the same few things.  It's like Counterstrike.  You have the LMG, the two shotguns, and all of the other guns.  It's been like that with quite a few games.  Not only black ops does it.
$3/map is pretty dumb, compared to most others that are about $1/map.  Activision is trying to milk as much as they can from CoD and ruin it at the same time (see; Bobby Kotick).

I don't place the blame at Treyarch, but Activision and CoD itself are both stupid now.
they are priced like that because of activision, but have you ever looked at the maps?  They look quite nice.  Compare to a game like battlefield in which maps are just the same few things ordered around differently, but are offered for free.  Besides, they have no real crowd sourcing for maps, like what happened with CoD4.  Treyarch produced all original maps for their map pack. They deserve a bit of money for it.

Bitch please. Map Pack 7 doesn't consist of existing Bad Company 2 maps, so what the hell are you talking about? Don't even bring up Map Packs 1-6 because those are just existing maps put on other game modes, and it shouldn't be called a map pack.

Yes, it does.  But that one out of seven that includes some new content.  And didn't it include some recycled maps as well?  Well, at least they're pricing them well for what they are.  Except if you bought it used, of course.

It's still technically free. You just need a $10 VIP code to download it if you bought it used.  :cookieMonster:

...in which maps are just the same few things ordered around differently...
You could say that about any map in existence.

You could say that about any map in existence.
In the way I mean it, it's barely using new content.  The only real new content is terrain.  It works well to do this in games such as TF2 and Quake, because you can create some nice structures without specialized models, unlike in a lot of games now.  But that's beside the point, the point I'm making is that black ops dlc maps are original maps, not rehashes.

But the game itself is a rehash, so that point falls flat.

Except for how that is completely irrelevant.

It's the game the maps are in. That's completely relevant. From what you've been saying, it looks like the only new content in black ops is maps.

I don't know about you, but Bad Company 2 maps look pretty amazing to me, especially on its not recycled engine that hasn't been the same for the past few games.

I'm pretty sure all developing companies produced all their original maps for their games.  Otherwise it's just copying everyone else which is just silly.

What bugs me is the fact that you're actually defending Black Ops on almost every single line of negative criticism.

They look the exact same as Bad Company 1, the only thing is that there's a few that are completely white.  What is that supposed to be anyway?  Sand or snow?

Do you mean developing company in the "developing country" sense or as in a game developer?  Also, I'm talking about the issue of DICE not creating an original map since 2007 or so.  Same goes for Infinity Ward.  Quite a few MW2 maps were actually maps from CoD4's development.  Look at Blops's level design, it's some of the most original stuff I've seen in a while.  The maps are interesting to look at, and are quite fun to play, for the most part.

It's the fact that almost everyone on this forum bandwagons on how "BLOCKroosterS SUX LOL CARL ON DOOTY" when it's actually a decent game that bugs me.  Sure, it's been the same basic game for the last few years, but it's a decently fun game.  Whine all you want, but I'll still say I had fun with the game.  Get over it.

It's the game the maps are in. That's completely relevant. From what you've been saying, it looks like the only new content in black ops is maps.
Oh, by the way, all video games suck because Black Ops is a video game, right?
