No its like there is is a camera on your shoulder and you see the item through the camera on your shoulder much like in the picture.

Therefore he is mentally impaired?

This is useless with out a third person cross hair. So I suggest anyone making this to put one in.

third person is when you can see your character, first person is seeing though your characters eyes.
