Author Topic: Let's Play League of Legends (OFF AIR)  (Read 12522 times)

Well I had two thirsters and I think I had more than 40 stacks between them.  :cookieMonster:

Show starting in 15 minutes

We got tons of people for some reason, then they all left. I think I snuck onto some footnote of a main blogtv page or something.

Viewership was quite good despite limited cohosting.

If any regulars want a bigger description in the OP they should message me.

I play LoL. Im Sheip on LoL

I inherited my little brothers level 14 account, though im probably going to re level one because the name "Dextrax" doesn't do much for me

Show's starting in less than 10 minutes.  :cookieMonster:

i was just watching my friend play again. i still dont get it.
every map is the same. every strategy is the same. every game i have ever watched is the same damn thing. even if you attempted something new and unique the game isnt designed to let you.

the only interesting aspect i see, are people are forced to eventually play other characters. but then again; the game does not change...

arent we supposed to look down on games like this? or is this just one of those "its free and decent so good enough" moments.

every map is the same because there's only 2 maps.

and everyone liked DotA so everyone's going to like HoN and LoL and stuff.

Are you playing it or watching it for this info?
There's strategy and thought you won't see involved.

As far as why people like LoL, I can tell you that I think that DotA and HoN are two of the worst games ever made, and Demigod's not far behind. It was only out of a desire to be thorough and on top of the state of gaming because I want to develop games for a living that I even tried LoL in the first place, expecting it to be utter garbage. I was hooked in 15 minutes. So for my part, I like LoL because it's the only decently-constructed example of the entire genre ever made, as far as I'm concerned.

I wasn't really going to respond to Bisjac because I don't think he's trolling but his complaints are equally applicable to any game in the world. You can argue that there's only one game mode in ladder Starcraft 2 or that in Modern Warfare 2 all you do is run around killing people all the time, and it's really more about not being interested in the game. And his post is inflammatory not because he's ignorant and doesn't care enough to learn more, but because he seems to think that not wanting to learn more is the same as there not being anything to learn.

As far as every strategy being the same and the game not being designed to let you do something new and unique, you're in good company with actual LoL players, because you fell into the same misconception that makes people rage at me almost every day. From my first post on the game ever on these forums:
Quote
The best part of the game is the deep strategy.

The worst part of the game is that most of its players are ignorant of the strategy and will be mad if you play any way other than "their way" because honestly, why would you play a TRIANGLE in TIC TAC TOE omg you IDIOT.
Well, no, this is not so simple a game, you just don't get it.

One of my goals with the show is to dispel a lot of the myths about how simplistic this game is, because if you have good strategies A and B used by players X and Y, then when X and Y meet each other in a game they will rage at each other because they are convinced the game doesn't have enough strategy to support two strategies that are that different. That causes a good amount of the rage.
