I just started, what's the best way to deal with a large underwater cavern. I only have copper weapons and I want to go to the bottom, cause there's an evil looking thing there.

Place any block, preferably dirt or sand, and then get rid of it. Repeat until water level is acceptable.
Or tunnel around the water and go to the evil thing and get a closer look.

I just got enough gold and made gold armor, Gonna save it for the molten armor. Also made nerco armor before i went mining for gold. However, Not a single loving skeleton has still not dropped a hook.

Do you know how long it took me to get a SINGLE HOOK? I killed like 500 or more skeletons and fish and not a single one dropped one until now.
