Yes, you can buy one from the merchant for 8 gold. It counts as the head slot, gives 1 armor, and requires being equipped in the non-vanity slot to work.

I don't know how bright it is now, if they messed with it at all like they did with the orb.

When they add more content they need to make light armor. It would glow really bright.

You still need to have Terraria for it to work.. It's a wrapper.
