I just survived my first Blood Moon (I'm fairly new to Terraria) and I did it by just blocking my doors off with dirt blocks. I'm just wondering if there's any better way than that.

Blood Moons are a great time to farm items

Set up lava pits and towers to snipe enemies from.

Killing the EoW over and over is fun. You can grind it for the (fairly useless) demonite and cash, which makes you a nice bundle of money for very little effort with decent gear.

The EoW is arguably easier to fight, since you can just rake it with a giant sword or a ball-type weapon until it dies.

That's a waste of money. I've killed the EoW I don't know how many times by just standing in place and swinging my fiery greatsword.

That's a waste of time. I'd rather spend my extra cash on musket balls (oh no 7 copper each how awful :c) so I can kill the thing in a few seconds.
