dkamm meant that most scouts don't run in a straight line.

Not to mention that if the scout gets away when you are a pyro you are doing something wrong.

or the scout's doing it right and staying out of your fire range while hitting you with scattergun/pistol shots

Unless you have the flare gun, in which case you can out damage him.

meh if you want to continue take it up with those crazy career pyros on the steam forums in the pyro section
most of them will say the shotgun is balanced with the flaregun and i have to agree as you won't hit every single flare

Sure, I understand that. But my opinion still is that the flare gun is about one thousand times better for long range combat.

forget you guys reserve shooter

oh long range then heck yes it is
forget you guys reserve shooter
it feels weird as pyro because it seems bulky

i found out how to get free items for a week

go to store, click "weapons", click ANY weapon, then "test it out" under the weapons list

the downfall is they last a week and can't be modded, traded or used in crafting, and you need to wait for an item's test period to end before you can try another one

also i bought a sticky jumper :D

Lame part about it is, even if you destroy the weapon you were testing, you wait a week.

After running some numbers, I have come to the conclusion that the Flare Gun does better DPS than the shotgun, if you are a perfect machine psychic who only cares about numbers
Fixed that for you.
I am never going to swap my trusty shotgun for that abomination because my baby can deal with enemy pyros and enemies underwater, and also because I am a human and humans tend to form emotional attachments to things.

See but at that point the situation is void as "fleeing" is hardly classified as doing what you are supposed to be doing lol.

But anyways, if you manage to out damage a SCOUT the class that can hit 100+ in a single shot, congrats, you are officially, as Qwepir said a perfect machine.

Landing 2 fast projectiles consecutively =/= Being a perfect machine. I'm not saying that you can just land 2 shots anytime you want, because it takes quite a bit of practice. However, it is most definitely possible. Flares are quite fast.
