I never get "hl2.exe has stopped working", mine just stops (luckily it hasn't been happening recently, knock on wood)

The game just shuts down instantly as if it was never open, and most of the time Steam doesn't notice and says I'm in-game for the next 3 hours

Fixed up my map a little bit. Added another door for both teams and a small ammo and health spawn.
Going to test it.

I join a server, and a few seconds before I spawn I get a connection problem and lag out, it happens through most of it, any thoughts?
