‎"If you read the End User License Agreement for Origin it states that by installing Origin you're giving EA the right to monitor your PC and to make a profile of you, including what programs you have installed (and whether you have any illegally downloaded material), what websites you use, etc., and that EA reserves the right to share or sell this information to third parties."

GOODBYE BF3 SALES, HELLO MW3

And you guys are extremely overreacting. It's nothing to refuse to buy the game over.

Whatever is gonna happen, EA is gonna get sued or something because that  policy is a blatant breach of privacy.

If you agree to it, how can you sue them? You can sign away your right to privacy.

Also, I'm getting it for the Xbox.

So am I, what's your gamertag?

I forget.

I haven't used Live in forever. I have a pre-paid 1-year card that I refuse to use until I get Battlefield 3.

They can't get sued, you agree to it by installing Origin.  Regardless of whether or not you read it, you clicked "I agree", otherwise it doesn't install.

"DICE won't allow you to shoot civilians because they don't want you to be bad. They want you to be the good person in this war."

Unlike in MW2, where you could play a level where the basic objective is to shoot civilians.

The fact that they are marketing to parents is scary.

MLG (Major League Gaming), one of the biggest professional gaming leagues in the world, has officially added Battlefield 3 to the list of competitive games. The outfit opened the gates for Battlefield 3 team registration on all three platforms: PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The tournament will be set up in the familiar “ladder” mode, where teams play each other and those at the top of the ladder advance to the playoffs, where, eventually, a winner is crowned. If you’re interested, you can register your team here.
The Battlefield 3 MLG roster is limited to 16 players per team, and must have at least 4 members. Matches will be played on best of 3 maps and maps must be selected randomly. You can check out the full set of rules here.
Battlefield 2 had a rich history in the competitive gaming world, and was played in many leagues and tournaments all over the globe. With MLG vouching for Battlefield 3 this early, it’s a great sign of trust for Battlefield 3 in the tournament world.

I may get BF3 to try it out for 360, so if you want to add me i'm Kolbaltic.

you dont give fake info if it scans your pc. that's why you should keep it in quarantine so it scans nothing but itself.
buying it supports it, it's like telling them that it is okay to do this. It isn't

so I will not be purchasing Battlefield 3, unless EA decides to pull their head out of their ass.

It's not like EA will use your information to rape you in your sleep. They use it for things like mailing letters if you want them to, and they want to get to know you to suggest different products I'm guessing.

As long as they don't sell any PERSONAL information away I'm cool with them even selling other companies information like, what games I play, because then advertisements will be more personalized to me, and it might introduce me to a game I would like.

But either way I'd much rather use Steam anyway.
