Author Topic: Blok trek TOS USS Enterprise NCC 1701 project >:D  (Read 38848 times)

Hey guys, when we are done making the Constitution class, care to go for a walk in the mirror universe?

Speaking of which, what are we going to do for the ship's phasers and torcreepes? We will need new projectiles for this...

The hosting issues we have been experiencing are gone now and the server is back up and running! Hooray!

We are beginning to install the armor plating inside the empty spaces of the ships hull. This will both improve combat durability/survival rate while helping to provide critical support for the entire ship's frame. Once it is installed, we can ditch the big zone scaffold bricks and continue construction normally!

additionally, construction on project alliance has resumed...

Also, due to the issue with Da Guy's theft of the project build, several people are getting banned from the server. Sorry, this is simply for security reasons, with the exception being bisjac, since he has been constantly butthurt-badmouthing the project members and the build.

I didn't start the thread. Captain C did. You have to talk to him if you want it modified.

Just finished the Deflector Control room. I'm actually surprised I managed to build this in under 2 hours...

The deflector field generator:

Control Station:

Hey I remeber this, Yeah I was helping with it when it started out. If its possible I would still like to work on it, Anyway please responsd.

PS> I have the save without engines.

Why would I need another save? I already have over a hundred backup saves from individual progress points.

Not to be rude, but in case you haven't seen the last couple of pages, I have redone over 90% of the ship already. We are going for top quality now instead of speed. This project is going to take a while to finish but I am determined to make the end results worthwhile. I honestly doubt you would be able to meet the new building standards I have been trying to establish, but feel free to stop by tomorrow and show me what you can do.

Harsh much, I don't know if these "building standards" are to top notch mostly because you are going off a crappily made ship in the first place. (The interior is rubbish, they can't make space tech look cool in these things.[I mean the real ship])

Gizmo, I don't understand where you are coming from with this. My building standards can only help improve the project, and they are "top notch". The ship design is not crappily made, so please do not try to flame the project by insulting what we are trying to replicate. That simply is uncalled for, and frankly you do not seem to understand what we are doing.

I don't know whether or not you have yet figured it out already, but what we are building here is a replica of a spaceship from a science fiction television show written nearly 45 years ago, in the 1960s. The starship Enterprise in the original Star Trek television series represents what people in the '60s envisioned future spacecraft as being like.

This ship is being built from the perspective of another era. I do not personally care whether or not you think "they" know how to make space tech look cool, but please realize that this is not some brand new ship design we are trying to make, and that we cannot cater to any personal demands as to what the ship should be like. You are judging our work based on standards that don't even apply to what we are making.

That is why I'm saying the building standards don't really need to be high. It doesn't take to much skill to just replicate something unless it is some crazy shape.

This just isn't my thing, so I won't post unless it is a good thing.

They do need to be high, and you have to realize that it takes a great deal of skill to replicate something, and even more to improvise. There are a lot of different ways the ship could have been built, so no, low standards would be stupid and nothing would add up right in the end. I am building it the way Captain C primarily wanted it to be, and I personally really like it.

I know what I am doing here, Gizmo. The build is supposed to be classical, and you are approaching and judging it based on modern day perspectives and of what you want it to be, rather than what it truly is. That simply is inappropriate and doesn't work.

I don't mean to offend you, I am just trying to explain.

Nice also Hello I'm a friend of Plant/The cable guy and I would like to join the project although I'm not very good at building I am good at eventing.

I disagree :P
No but seriously; replicating something can be both easy and incredibly hard. You don't need much imagination to come up with the build (cause it's based of something real), but it can be challenging to make it work in Blockland. In some cases it's just plain impossible. (trust me, I've been there. The reasons for the problems fall under the "crazy shape" category though)
