I only have 23,000 caps (I don't have fortune finder perk) but the 12.7mm sub machine gun is expensive, I'm saving up that money for better weapons.

1. Does Fallout: New Vegas have any places to live? Or do i need a mod? If I do need a mod, can you suggest me one :3
2. Everytime I kill someone and their body 'splodes, I get a bunch of Red !'s. How do I fix this?

1. Yeah there's a few places. Novac motel room is my favorite.
2. If you installed via steam, verify your game cache. sounds like you have some bad files.

In New Vegas gun prices are fixed, unlike in Fallout 3 where you can get a fatman for 200 caps. An almost broken fatman costs about 3,000 caps in New Vegas.

An almost broken fatman costs about 3,000 caps in New Vegas, a semi decent version is 5,000 and a fully fixed up Fatman is over 10,000.

I simply sometimes buy weapons from dealers that I know sell stuff, I repair the weapons, then sell it back for a marginal profit.

Also, I found a Cowboy Repeater. It's the closest I can find to a sniper at this point, so I keep using it and my Caravaneer Shotgun.
