Author Topic: Dwarf Fortress Megathread! - Necro'd enough to count as a vampire  (Read 134643 times)

I know somebody who lost all his fortress to some deadly beast that i can not remember the name of, all his military dead, all his workers dead, then a cook threw his mittens at the beast, and killed it.
What i am trying to say is, use cooks to fight of badgers
One time this pregnant dwarf was in a bad mood because her husband died, and this guy (player) tried to keep her happy because she had like a bunch of legendary stats.

Then, he orders to dig out a place under a lake, she decides to help out and falls down the pit.  But right before she hits and ground the baby comes out.  The baby is unharmed and the mother is dead.  He decides it's not worth it so he closed the pit up and never saw it in three years.

He comes back in 3 years to find the baby is still alive.  He survived off of the water and the rats scurrying around.

He grows up to be farmer with 5 kids.

The end.

Who needs to catch arrows with their hands when you can catch them WITH YOUR TEETH?

- Added another 8 arms, 3 heads and 70 teeth
- Made them carnivorous
- Added a random tentacle
- Added 2 fingers on each hand
that's just loving horrifying.

bump because richards

anyways, why do i have to be playing on the version (0.31.18) that has cabinets that don't want to be assigned :(

is there a way to update your saves?

Put your save folder in a updated installation of Dwarf Fortress. See what happens.

will it blow up

I just changed the creature_standard file for dwarves:

- Dwarves no longer need food, drink or sleep
- Dwarves move faster than makes logical sense
- Added another 8 arms, 3 heads and 70 teeth
- Made them carnivorous
- Added a random tentacle
- Added 2 fingers on each hand
- Gave them thicker skin, and lowered the dependancy on lungs and heart
- Made losing a pancreas near-fatal
- Set dependancy on head to ZERO. I tested it in arena and you can cut their heads off and still be hammered to death very quickly.
- Resistance to dragonfire and lava.

I think a job well done ;)

I think I might revert back to the original dwarf file and create a new creature. How do you allow it to be accessed in adventurer mode?

you sick monster

will it blow up
Probably not. Keep a copy just in case though.

Are cabinets even assignable. I've always just made a bedroom and assigned THAT, and then just added things like cabinets and tables within the room. Instant ownership for the proprietor of the room, and no extra assigning.
Of course, if you want the cabinet out of a room then I have no idea.

man i really want to learn how to play this game.
