being linear is not a problem in games if they are fun. sometimes the problem with unlinear games is that you go off in a different direction and can't find stuff because the squad leader is already at where you were supposed to be going. face it, the game is made for fun, not to pander to you because you're too much of a whiny bitch to suck it up and not buy the game.
yes, it is. no game should be linear. there should be at least some freedom of choice. i want to be able to go off the main track and find some cool stuff. if i can't do that, the game is a bust. if you have to rely on the ai of your teammates in a game, it's a bad game.

I would get this, but on account of how many fricken COD games there are, I have no idea which one to get.

start with cod 4

who plays this for the singleplayer it is literally the worst singleplayer game that will ever exist
I can see the appeal
I played both MW1 and MW2's singleplayer campaigns
and by god, they've got pretty good stories if you ask me
I mean it's like zero replayability
but that's what the multiplayer's for

I think it's most likely that you're looking at it from a biased point of view

they've got about as good of a story as a tom clancy book

I only want to get one though, and stick with it. What would be a good COD game to get, should I just wait for this one?

Alright, I'll see how good this one looks when it's out. So I'll get 2 or 3. Thanks.

EDIT: Wait, does MW2 have zombies, and will MW3?

mw2 does not, and i don't know about mw3. world at war and black ops both have zombies

they've got about as good of a story as a tom clancy book

you say this like it's a bad thing

you say this like it's a bad thing
because it is. tom clancy books are literally just "THE national socialistS/COMMUNISTS/BLACKS ARE RUNNING DRUGS/TERRORIZING/DESTROYING THE MORAL FABRIC OF AMERICA"

If MW3 has zombies, I'll get it. If not, should I get Black Ops?
I might decide to get it anyways if there are no zombies, because the campaign and setting looks interesting.

It's got special ops, not zombies.

Zombies = one of the only appeals to call of duty games imo

Infection=Zombies

Not necessarily, it sounds like you just fight wave upon wave of guys with guns and Self Delete-bomber dogs.
