12gb of my skyrim folder was mods. The 1.9 update broke my game somehow though so i'm also going to go back to oblivion.

And my mod managers folder was an extra 6gb :D

You only do it to deliver Serana, not to join the vamps.
Yes but if you were loyal to the Dawnguard in the first place you'd kill Serana where she stands and take the the thing she has and bring it to the Dawnguard Fort. But no. You have to babysit the vampire and bring her to the vampire's nest and just give away the thing she has. Lord Harkon even says that he has spread rumors about that one guy so it wouldn't have been too hard for the Dawnguard to hear about it and put two and two together. The guest log says to investigate the vampire activity in the dungeon. When you find Serana it is quite clear what's going on.

How silly of me to think Bethesda would force such a decision on you. There is only one way to complete the quest and you have to visit the vampire hideout in order to proceed even if you don't want to join the vampires.
This is the exact reason why Skyrim is a horrible RPG. Your decisions don't change the world at all, no one in the game will like you less or like you more besides having more friendly sound bits when it comes to those annoying prompts the NPC's say whenever you walk by them. In the game you can join the dark brotherhood, assassinate the emperor and then join the imperial legion. The way how that is possible is beyond me. Were the imperial agents so stupid they couldn't trace a stab wound to the dark brotherhood? Even the damn guards of Whiterun know who killed the emperor and that information is coming from a bunch of nutjobs who all got shot in the knee and bitch about it to some stranger every day.

Good job spoiling the end of the Dark Brotherhood quest line.

You can also become a werewolf and then have Harkon turn you into a vampire, then you can cure your vampirism and automatically regain your lycantrophy (which can be cured), then restore your vampirism by a vampire follower, and lycantrophy can also be restored by a follower. Although I think you cannot be a vampire in order to get lycanthropy but it does work the other way around.

Everyone who gives a damn has already completed the game. If someone were to get this game, they would have gotten it already.

the stories of all the elder scrolls quests are extremely predictable, there aren't any big twist or anything that deserve spoiler proofing.

Its not like the bruce willis is a ghost or snape kills dumbledore spoilers or anything.

oh my god the DB kills the emperor?! I would have never guessed that a group of high profile assassins would kill a ruler!!!

Good point. I also forgot that you get the assignment to kill the emperor pretty early on.

Bet you didn't see Captain Picard being killed within the Imperial City's dungeon coming! :D

Well, the elder scrolls universe happens in another universe referred to as "Nirn" and the technology has stayed in a medieval state for around 10 000 years, which is strange, but who the hell else could be able to get the information of where the emperor is located in? Who the hell would be able to sneak on trough this big location, get trough all of those guards with either brains or bron and have the motivation to kill the emperor?

Anyways, if the emperor wasn't such a jesus bitch, he could tell his men to raise the amount of guards in his ship because every emperor knows when they die.

[BIG SPOILERS]
The empire knew that the dark brotherhood was going to attempt an assassination. They even eliminated the old dark brotherhood members in the old sanctuary during the questline. Now how could they figure that out? Because Astrid told them about the sanctuary, its location and everyone who is inside of it. All she achieved was getting herself killed. So, if you're an intelligent person, after the Emperor has been stabbed to death you would probably think it was the Dark Brotherhood who did it right? Right? They had attempted to assassinate the emperor very recently, right? Well, all the Pentius Ocalutus Agents are sitting on their ass on the top level of some tower in Solitude. Even the loving guards of Solitude or any city know that the new hideout is located in Dawnstar. Even the damn imperials you can report to if you chose to destroy the dark brotherhood knew where the old and new hideout is. They even knew the loving password to them both.
[BIG SPOILERS END]

I think the player could have assassinated the emperor by himself, it's just that you'd need an excuse to do all that stuff to kill the emperor.

The DB questline just seemed like an unessecary thing to get myself into and would only get me a good amount of gold so I just killed Astrid.

Given the down right impeccable luck the dragon born has in any situation, killing the emperor could've been a Stormcloak mission because why not?

Pfft, lol.

But the dark brotherhood tried to assassinate the emperor just before the player finishes the job.

Also, there isn't any point in killing the emperor for the Stormcloaks. All they want is the control of Skyrim, not the entire Tamriel.

But you forget that the empire assumes that the DB is wiped out from there attack.
And even still, they don't know the location of the dawnstar sanctuary, so if they did know they couldn't act on it.

and also, its a loving game, allow yourself to have some suspension of disbelief.

1. The old dawnstar sanctuary was abandoned because it was discovered

2. But its so damn stupid
