Omg so excited! Today is finalization of my computer, either getting it this weekend or Black Friday. Either way, so excited! Going to be cruising on Battlefield 3 with my 6870! ASDF

I got that graphics card. Great performance. Which brand are you buying from? XFX, ASUS?

XFX. The one on sale for 170 on Newegg. Thankfully, I use rebates now and can get it for a 6850 price!

Although, I was going to go for the Sapphire, but a bit too expensive.

I have XFX as well.

Plus, XFX has a lifetime warranty. :D

You serious?
I have to contact these guys. I busted my XFX graphics card a while back and I didn't know about a warranty. :o
EDIT: What if my mom threw out my door sign thing with all the info on it?
I still have the box.

You should be fine with the box. I've never had to redeem it, all my XFX stuff still works.

While I was waiting, I decided to conjure up a new list:

Case - NZXT M59 - $49.99
PSU - OCZ Fatal1ty 550W - $35 AR and code
RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws X 8GB (4GB x 2) - $42.99
Motherboard -  Open Box ASRock H61DE/S3 - $54.99
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1TB - $54.99
GPU & CPU - XFX HD 6870 and Intel i3-2120 -  $272.98 AR
2 CM 120MM Blue LED case fans - $15.98

Total is $521.91 AR

I must be dreaming, I never got such good parts at such a low price! The PSU was a life-saver!

Should I take the 2 120MM fans, I feel it will really help in cooling the graphics card and case overall, but would it better to not take them? And will they fit in the M59?

I derped somehow and ended up frying it or something. I'm not sure if it's broken, but I'm 90% confident it is, you see, I had to remove my motherboard, graphics card, and sound card when I installed my heatsink because it's huge and barely fits in my case.
I set my graphics card on my carpet and I'm guessing it got friction somehow and shorted it out or something. When I installed it when I was done, the fan would go on full for 1 second, go to like 20, full, then 20 while my screen is blank and then it would just go on 20 or so and not show anything. HDMI, DVI and VGA don't work.
What's your professional verdict?

Very decent. Only thing that will be holding it back is the GPU and the fact it's a laptop.
Other than that you did it right I guess.

@steve
Your video card has suffered from ESD.
I don't really think it's covered for it's warranty, but I've been wrong about these things before, give it a shot.

Antec 300 ILLUSION

vs

CM Storm Scout, (Same price, on sale for 70)

I have a Gigabyte Radeon 6950, and an AMD Phenom II X4 995 processor, but I get major performance issues in GTA IV, which is a very buggy game anyway, but it lags a lot more then it should.

Is my CPU holding back my graphics card or is this just a problem with GTA.

It could be a bottleneck. Have you tried overclocking?

Although, I feel it's unlikely and probably driver issues, try reinstalling your drivers
