The ports have PCI E1/E2/E3/E4 written next to them on the motherboard. It was a very expensive computer, but the video card is kinda shoythey (and I want to loving play skyrim)
That sounds right then.
I still need to know the other stuff though :D

AND NOW, I WAIT FOR BLACK FRIDAY/CYBER MONDAY.
:D

I'm saving $1,000 to build a computer. Anyone have opinions on Asus brand parts?
One of the best quality brands.

or possibly

I read really good things about the crucial one but it has a lot lower write speeds than the ocz one
Go for the OCZ.
Faster, and I always use OCZ Vertex personally. Great quality, and it has nearly double the rated life span than the Crucial.

come to think of it an SSD would be nice..

I have a Z68 board, if I want to take advantage of SRT technology is it as simple as mounting the SSD, or will I have to reinstall windows?
Just plug in the SSD and install the software, and it will cache in the background :D

Damnit, decisions decisions.

AMD seems like good for budget builds like $500 and such, but then Intel keeps on calling to me. Main reason is, when I have upgrade options in the future, I won't be able to upgrade to 2500k with AMD :/
I'd stick to AMD for 500 to 600 dollar systems.

Just ordered the XFX HD 6870 from Newegg for $170, and there's a $20 rebate. Did I make the right choice? Should I have waited? :C
Good choice.

so I just realized that the 100 dollar PSU I'm buying, with all that mail in rebate jazz, will only cost about 20

wjdfadd
lol :D

Recommend me a good graphics card and motherboard for 300 bucks so I can upgrade off of this 9400 GT killjoy and be able to use my disk drive again. The motherboard has to be DDR2 RAM with 4 slots and PCI-E 2.0.

PSU?
Case?
CPU slot?

I wonder what the deals on black Friday will be like on newegg.

I have a 700W PSU. I should be good for anything you can get for that little.
Also, I may need a very cheap case that can still provide decent airflow.

EDIT: Sorry, I new I was forgetting something. I'm very sick and I'm tired. My CPU socket is AM2+/AM3 and I have an ATX case and motherboard.
The reason I can't look it up myself is that I'm in a roaming area tethering internet from my phone so I only get about 5KB/s.
I can barely go on the forums.
Plus, you know more than me.
EDIT: Make that 350 I guess.

Definitely need the case?
Your PSU is good quality?
What speed is your RAM?

I guess I can worry about the case after what is left. Whatever GPU you get, please get the lowest price of it. I need the money for the case I suppose.
Apevia PSU. I haven't really heard of the brand much but it is actually great.
1066 preferably but I can settle with 800.
EDIT: Only being 15, money is pretty tight. That's why I can barely afford to upgrade.

So, you have:

PSU,
Case
Motherboard

Do you need HDD as well?

I have a PC.
It just kinda sucks at the moment since my current graphics card died on me followed by a series of crap.
You see, my graphics card was defective. I would often get artifacts on my screen but my mom refuses to send it back.

One day I turned my PC on and it put out 90% artifacts for 10 seconds the just died. It sucked. I had to use my 9400 GT that I've had forever, which doesn't seem to want to keep from overheating. It will reach 100C after 5 minutes of playing a game and stop working until I restart my computer. I found a ghetto solution of setting my PC on its side with a fan blowing strait into it.
Well, this works but my dad started staying at my house for a little and his dog slobbered all up in the fan and destroyed some important features such as my other 3 SATA connectors and a series of other stuff. I currently am using the only working one left for my HDD, so I can't use my disk drive.

I've been using this 111GB hard drive for ages. It's a decent hard drive, pretty good speed and connects via SATA.
I can live with this HDD for a while but I seriously need a new mobo and GPU.

And that's why I need new stuff. C:

Think I've already replied to this. Not sure.
The case is extremely high quality for the rest of the system. The mobo is low quality and the GPU isn't that great. I'd definitely prioritize that money better if I were you.
What's your full budget?
more or less 1000

I just notice my old pc(that can't play Bl idk why maybe the RAM). Is a custom and it old should I upgrade it or get a new one?

I need the full specs.
Start > Run > dxdiag
Post entire contents of the first tab and display tab.

more or less 1000
That's quite a bad build for $1000.
I'll get you a parts list soon.
