New question.

Will the $500 build be able to support two monitors? One is VGA/HDMI and other is HDMI/DVI/VGA.
VGA is 19.5" tv/monitor combo, and the other will be 23" monitor.
Yeah.
I believe they can support 3.

don't get seagate either, low-quality.

Also, I wish I had 1080p, I only have 900p, oh, well enough :P. 720p on BF3 on PS3 looked amazing, enough for me. :p

but then 1080p looks so good, but only my TV in the living room is 1080p, which I probably won't be able to hook up with my computer due to various reasons.
Seagates are good quality.

...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

What about Samsung? Are they good enough?

Also:

GSkill? Alright, I need to make up for the HD change.
Samsung are good too.

You would be better off with an 1155 board and a i3-2100, it actually performs the same if not better and it allows for upgrades to say a i7-2600k or i5-2500k in the future

I'm doing an AMD build for a good reason. I'd rather not go with Intel.

What exactly? Its not cheaper and it doesn't perform better

alright, after further math looks like it is cheaper.

hey it's sandy bridge too.

i'll guess i'll go with it.

EDIT: stuff wait no, it's a trap.

the deal is a limited time offer, and i'm afraid it won't last till monday.

The 2100 is still cheaper than a 970, i think the 2100 is normally 125ish. The chipset is also newer and you'll be able to upgrade. It would be about 10 dollars more if it wasn't on sale. You don't actually need that static strap too

alright, i'll guess i'll do the switch.

last generation of amd used to be better value but amd is losing its edge this generation

alright, what if i went with a z68 gigabyte mobo instead?

i've heard mixed reviews on them and i'd rather be off with asrock.

I don't know much about asrock but its owned by asus, which motherboard are you looking at?

it's about the same price, has SLI which is a need for the future, might do dual cards.

screw that. sticking with the asrock.

I have a problem with my Laptop

The other day, it was sitting on my bed, and then it just shut off. I realized "Oh gees, it overheated." (This is the first time it ever over heated) Ever since then, my laptop has been very very sensitive to shutting down. The first time,  the laptop felt to about 130°F (Estimate) when it shut down, it now shuts down at about 99°F (Just a little above body temperature.)

Any way I can fix this?

Maybe, the 6870 can support multiple monitors, but I think it's only 3, not sure about 2. Although, both monitors have to be the same resolution.
That's not true. You can have multi monitors in all different sizes and resolutions, but if you want Eyefinity then they all have to be the same size.
I don't think Eyefinity with 2 monitors is very aesthetically pleasing. A line right down the middle? MADNESS

Two monitors at different resolutions =

major screw-ups

I've tried 3 monitors with a friend's build, and one of them was 1600x1050 while the other 2 1920x1080p, and it was really... can't find the word to say it.

Also, two monitors wouldn't be good for gaming. The end borders on each side of the monitor would obstruct your central view.
I've used 2 monitors of different resolutions for a long time on one of my builds with no problems whatsoever.

Quick question:
If I used an HDMI cable on a graphics card, but had a HDMI to DVI converter on the monitor, would I still get the same quality as a HDMI without a converter?
Both HDMI and DVI are digital connections, so any connection is the best quality, unlike brown townog where cable quality etc mattered.
Although HDMI transmits audio and DVI does not.

I don't think you know what you're talking about right now. Im using 2 monitors right now, one is a primary  so you play games only on that one. I normally have internet browser up on the other. 2 monitors and 3 monitors are completely different. For an amd card to have 3 you need to use either 2 cards or a display port.
Nope, one big feature of AMD cards is the ability to have 3 monitors in eyefinity on one card.
nVidia cards need 2 cards for 2 monitors, apart from the high end 590.

Nope, I have a 5870. You need to use a display port on the card. You need an adapter or a monitor that supports it. They can only support 2 using the others.

I must say both brands are great, but if the Gigabyte is Z68 and the other isn't, then go with the Z68. Much better chipset.

Download something that shows all the temperatures of your components. If we can isolate the problem it will make it much easier.

Yeah, that's no big deal though.
You can even get 3 monitors off 5770s or so, I believe. That's really cheap for 3 monitor support.
