Maybe, the 6870 can support multiple monitors, but I think it's only 3, not sure about 2. Although, both monitors have to be the same resolution.
That's not true. You can have multi monitors in all different sizes and resolutions, but if you want Eyefinity then they all have to be the same size.
I don't think Eyefinity with 2 monitors is very aesthetically pleasing. A line right down the middle? MADNESS
Two monitors at different resolutions =
major screw-ups
I've tried 3 monitors with a friend's build, and one of them was 1600x1050 while the other 2 1920x1080p, and it was really... can't find the word to say it.
Also, two monitors wouldn't be good for gaming. The end borders on each side of the monitor would obstruct your central view.
I've used 2 monitors of different resolutions for a long time on one of my builds with no problems whatsoever.
Quick question:
If I used an HDMI cable on a graphics card, but had a HDMI to DVI converter on the monitor, would I still get the same quality as a HDMI without a converter?
Both HDMI and DVI are digital connections, so any connection is the best quality, unlike brown townog where cable quality etc mattered.
Although HDMI transmits audio and DVI does not.
I don't think you know what you're talking about right now. Im using 2 monitors right now, one is a primary so you play games only on that one. I normally have internet browser up on the other. 2 monitors and 3 monitors are completely different. For an amd card to have 3 you need to use either 2 cards or a display port.
Nope, one big feature of AMD cards is the ability to have 3 monitors in eyefinity on one card.
nVidia cards need 2 cards for 2 monitors, apart from the high end 590.
