Consumer computers do not need RAID setups, ever. Some hobbyists use it for fun. You should stick to dropbox/dvd backups.

I might do the same :/ AMD may release a better GPU early but then when NVIDIA jumps in to the next generation it woops AMDs ass.

Uh, uninstall Debian and install KDE then?

You just install KDE and configure it from the command line, KDE isn't a distro.  It's a desktop environment.
