Ew, dat ugly underspec'd crapola.

Also your avatar makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

Underspec'd? I'll have you know it can run Blockland without shaders!

And aww thankyou c:

Have you guys heard anything about Tesla? I want to know its comparison to Kepler

Any ideas on why one of my cores disappeared on my AMD Phenom II X6 1055T? It says "5 cores activated" on boot but it used to say 6.

I would recommend Asus and Compaq. HP is okay but they tend to have hideous case decals and fruity designs.

They aren't the same.

Compaq was its own company, it was acquired by HP and is now a division, but is technically separate.

Pretty sure HP maintains it for budget systems, usually Compaq is the affordable end.

how much difference would it make upgrading from this to this?

would it be worth it? the 720 is getting pretty old but I still want a good AMD cpu for gaming/tons of apps under $110

how much difference would it make upgrading from this to this?

Significant difference.

The Phenom II X4 965 is twice as powerful.

@laptop brand discussion

I personally love Lenovo Thinkpads, just bought a refurbished t400 and the quality is awesome.
They may have a boring design but that's not important.

IMHO quality > design

And buying refurbished ones is a good way to get powerfull laptops for little money.

I'm not planning to for a long time.
That's good; you won't have to for a long time. If your CPU gets too hot though, reapplying some nice high-quality thermal paste should fix it.

Arctic Silver is always a good brand
