CPU didn't look too pretty in these tests. I'm considering an FX-6200 or a Phenom II x4 965.

friend is gonna get this or something yadda yadda, how are the specs
what the forget, specs are too good for a mini laptop like that.

Giddy giddy giddy.
After a day break I've finally managed to get my computer all put together, need to do some cable management but she already looks so hot. Not installed Windows yet because im lazy but she turns on without any problems YAY.

uh

question, can you install and activate a used windows 7 disc onto a new hard drive?

Are you doing molex to pci-e? What kind of stuffty psu did you get?

If it is retail, yes.

If it is PC builder version / OEM then no, unless you use the same motherboard.

what does OEM mean? And I will be using the same mother board.

OEM is a version system builders / companies use to install Windows on a number of computers with the same hardware, with the ability to sell the computer (you can't legally install retail on an "unlimited" number of computers, or sell the computer and keep the install CD and code).

It is cheaper to buy the OEM edition.

Does it effect performance? They came with the Gpu and it was my first time installing a graphics card like this one, so i just did as it told me to do. I have a few spare pci-e cables, you can see one of them at the bottom.

Any ideas on why one of my cores disappeared on my AMD Phenom II X6 1055T? It says "5 cores activated" on boot but it used to say 6.
Bumpan.

This is the second time in the last week I've read about an AMD CPU core disappearing. One guy had a quad core that turned into a single core-- at least thats what the computer thought had happened. The recommendation was: "Clear CMOS/BIOS and or load failsafe config in the BIOS."

They fixed it and said this...

"Loaded default config in bios, then windows reinstalled ACPI and prompted me to reboot, whereupon I found all my cores once more. "

Perhaps something to consider. I'm just routing information I read, I have no idea how relevant it will be for you.

I was kind of expecting something like that. I'm getting a new computer soonish and I don't do 3D rendering enough to miss that one core so it's not really worth the effort.

I'd seriously rather have mirrored partitions than a backup drive that can get pushed off and the USB cable yanked out by the fall.

If you seriously do not like my decision, then it's my fault for being paranoid. I'm still not sure whether to take that drive out, though.
RAID isn't backup though lol, you're wasting money.

Seems like a waste still.

here's a tip
don't touch the drive if you're that paranoid
