How do you play RTS games

I like to go in hard and fast, I build all the cheapest units and attack as soon as possible.
I like to provide a slow, continious stream of attack on the enmies base(s).
I focus completley on defense and turtle myself until they send a giant wave, then attack them.
I like to focuse mainly on resources and rely on my allies to do the fighting.
I attack not very often, but when I do, I use the strongest units and try to attack their most major buildings.
Defend until I can get all the big stuff, then go try and blow everything the forget up.
I like to trick my enimies, I send a group right up the middle, then attack with multiple or one other group while they are occupied with that.
Anything ground based will do the trick for me, I just do anything.
Anything arial based will do the trick for me, I just do anything.
Anything naval based will do the trick for me, I just do anything.
I only use special units and support, I use lots of money but only produce a few units.
loving nukes.
Other (specify).
I suck at these games anyways, who needs tactics.
EVERYTHING! SEND EVERYTHING!

I built tons of attack stuff and overwhelm them with superior numbers.

let us change our votes

I don't get to play enough rts games :/

But i usually get as much res as possible then destroy with unending swarm of units.

Nehpets' Guide for any combat based RTS
1. Create a gigantic fortress with 3+ resource collectors of every kind
2. Make 3-5 bases for heavy ground troops, aerial units, and vehicles like tanks
3. Laugh as enemies cower beneath your might

I follow the tactics of Alexander the Great, be the first one to attack, defense is not an option.

In TW games I attack with high quality units. In games like Company of Heroes I attack with cheap units early.

Let's say I'm playing CivIV. I immediately go total war and order all of my cities to produce various military units, mostly ground-based. I move them all onto one cell, and mobilize the cell slowly towards city after city. I'm usually technological lightyears ahead of my AI opponents anyway, so I basically send a wave of artillery and mechanized infantry against "warriors" "archers" and the like. If somehow my units run low, I negotiate peace with my enemy until I can rebuild my army, then declare war again.
In other words, I'm terrible at leading a wartime civilization.
SEND EVERYTHING. TOTAL WAR. DROP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND MAKE TANKS OR YOU'RE A TRAITOR TO MY COUNTRY.

Battle for Middle-earth II yea.

Other. I usually lose.

I amass almost every bit of defense I have in all the cities in my country to go and attack an enemy. Homeland defense means nothing to me.

Take the most metal spots and then spam goliaths until everything is dead

Or what tails does.

bloodthirster!

then i lose badly

I remember one time I had equipped my troops with the best armor available. We were winning in the end, but a few of the enemy slipped past and proceeded to I'll my entire population except the 30 soldiers.
