Keep in mind Half Life 2 is relatively old. It is 7 years old, in game development time, that is quite a while.
Duke Nukem Forever has been around longer and early videos shown a level where you drive a boat with machine guns.
What do you think of Half Life 2?
I'm playing on hard and I find it a little boring at the moment. The airboat stuff was dragged on way too long and those balancing scale puzzles were too easy.
Then I'm up to zombie headcrabs and they die too easily. Hell in one area there is 7 of them and about 15 explosive barrels all in the same area. All I had to do was shoot one barrel.
So far compared to Half-Life 1 it's lacking in the shooting department. There is also way too many explosive barrels, Half-Life 1 had a good balance but in Half-Life 2 it's like an explosive barrel playground.
