Lucid Dreaming

So from what I've heard, I lay as still as I can, but try to keep concious. And I do this until I feel paralyzed (which I'm not sure when to test this, since I'm supposed to be as still as I can. If I try to move to test it, I'll have messed it all up won't I?) and then if I am, I open my eyes and see if I hallucinate, and then close them again, and I'm lucid? Right?

I've made worlds with the hate from other people. I live there when i sleep. Read it later, it's really kind of interesting.

Questions. How can you keep yourself from sleeping when your trying to lucid dream? What movements are allowed? Can you swallow or lick your lips to prevent dry mouth or lips?
